Character: Johnny Seo, Qian Kun, Mark Lee, Nakamoto Yuta
Summary: late at night, Johnny Seo is driving on his own in a deserted forest. He sees how it would be impossible for anyone to live around here, until he finds a golden light glowing brightly in front of him. As he gets closer, he is surprised to see a house in front of him, right when he was about to fall asleep. What will he find in this house? Will it be a normal one like he expects? Or something of another?
The night was dark and chilling. There was mist flying everywhere and it was hard to see the road. Youngho was sat in his car as he was driving down a deserted forest. He was far away from the city, and by now he was sure that he was lost. It was late at night, and he had nowhere to go.
The 22 year old had gotten kicked out of his home a couple of nights back by his parents. He came from a rather wealthy family, and after that one night had come to pass, everything in his life started to fall apart. Youngho didn't know what to do now. Bad luck was always accompanying him. He was tired and just wanted everything to stop. He wanted to get away from reality.
A couple of moments of driving passed by, and Youngho spotted a faded golden light ahead of him in the distance. The thought of someone living around these forests already seemed weird to him out. It was depressingly dark and unsettling around here... But wow. How convenient. The 22 year old drove further up the road and there he saw it. The fog cleared up and then revealed one of the biggest houses he had ever set his eyes upon. Youngho stopped the car at the side of the road. Just as he was getting ready to step out of the vehicle, he stopped and thought for a moment. He was starting to get an eerie feel from this. It was late around 3 am and he finally found shelter somewhere far away from the city.
But... it is just a coincidence.... right?
It was all already weird, but the man was too tired to have a second thought and care. He didn't want another night of sleeping in the car. It made his back ache and feel like an old man. Without actually thinking any further or anything through, Youngho stepped out of his car and closed the door only to be hit by a freezing gust of wind. He wasn't dressed properly either. All he had on was a worn out jean jacket, a pair of skinny jeans, and a thin grey shirt. You might say this man is absolutely crazy right now, especially considering that it's almost the end of autumn. In a way, you are right.
But anyways, Youngho hugged himself with his arms and turned to face the house. That's when his jaw dropped. The house appeared much bigger than what he saw from a distance back. Not to mention, the glowing light he saw in this direction was now gone. He looked up at the windows as he began to walk. In the back of his head, he almost felt as if someone was watching him from behind.
Once he made it to the front door, just before Johnny was about to knock, the door creeped open with a loud squeaky sound. Johnny was startled and he jumped back. A short moment passed by. After nothing seemed to happen for a while, he stuck his head in through the doorway and began to look around inside.
"Hello?" He called from the door. Dead silence. There was no response.
Johnny walked into the house. It was so dark he could barely see a thing. Another gust of wind passed by him and the door swung shut. Hearing this all of a sudden, he turned around in shock and desperately tried to turn the knob again. But the door didn't open as it was now locked.... from the outside. Looks like he has no choice now.
"Sorry for the intrusion." He let out in a quiet voice and bowed to no one in particular before taking another step.
The door was very strange...
Johnny took out his phone and turned it on. He saw that the battery percentage was at 12%. He wasn't willing to waste it for lighting. So instead, he slipped the device back into his pocket and took out his lighter. Johnny ignited a flame and began to look around in the glowing light.
He began to walk deeper into the house. He saw that it was an old and empty dusty looking house. But, all the furniture was covered with dark cloths. He looked up and found the staircase. That was when Johnny's stomach began to rumble. He knew being in an unfamiliar dark place, it would take him a while to find the kitchen. But it didn't look like anyone lived here so there was a greater chance that he wouldn't find anything to eat and it would all just be a loss cause.
Ignoring his hunger, Youngho made his way to the stairs and began to walk up them. He walked slowly as he looked at what was hung up on the wall. There were many picture frames and paintings. But one in particular seemed to catch his attention. Halfway through the stairs, there was a painting of what appeared to be a magician.
Youngho gazed at it and found that the magician in the painting was holding a card between the fingers of his left hand. He was sitting with one leg crossed over the other and he looked like he was in his early twenties. It appeared that he was sitting on the edge of a tall rectangular building. Youngho held his lighter near the painting to get a closer view and it looked like the red light behind the man (the sunset) was glowing brighter with the help of the fire. The magician's eyes were painted as orange as the sky and he held a funny smirk on his face. On the wood of the frame, a date and a name was carved. 68.4.0 Qian.-N.
Who is Qian? Is he the man in the painting?
But wait... where did the 68 come from?
Suddenly, Youngho snapped his head around. He held his lighter in front of himself and looked at the stairs from below. He could have sworn that he heard a sound. The room was empty with no one except for himself, and yet, he had this weird feeling growing from inside. Someone is following him.
He shook his head. Could it just have been the wind? Youngho did not know. He tried calming himself down and turned back to the painting.
But when Youngho opened his eyes and looked up again, he was overcome with shock once more. The first painting.... had changed. Wait... wasn't it first a person sitting in front of a sunset? Then why is it suddenly a black playing card...?
He blinked twice. The man hit his head a couple of times. He thought that his mind was playing tricks on him. Who knows, what if this was happening since he hadn't slept well for the past couple of nights?
Get a grip on yourself, Johnny Suh.
He let out a sigh and turned to face the rest of the staircase in front of him. Johnny continued walking up. The stairs creaked, but he was not scared. It was normal when the house was old and abandoned. Once he reached the top, Johnny stood at the middle of a long hallway. It was so long, he couldn't clearly see the end of either sides. Looks like the house really is as big as it promises. The 22 year old chose to go left.
Johnny looked around the halls, seeing all the other paintings and picture frames that were up. But, he seemed to notice something. Just about every piece of furniture was covered in cloth. He began to wonder how old the house was and who lived in it before.
As Johnny walked further down the hallway, his pace began to slow down as he felt an unknown presence coming from behind him. He heard a pair of walking footsteps coming to a stop. There was a faint echoing that came from the hall he just walked through. Johnny turned around for the third time that night and looked ahead of himself.
"Is anyone there?" He called in the uncanny darkness.
For a moment, there was nothing but deafening silence. Everything was so still, Youngho almost thought he could hear his own heart beating. He looked around and held his breath. It was suffocating, almost as if he was drowning. There was a tap. And then another. He listened.
A piercing roar of thunder boomed from the outside.
Youngho fell to the floor and held onto his chest. The sudden loud noise startled him so much he thought he would have a heart attack at that point. This house was getting even more unsettling. He almost didn't want to stay here any longer. Just one night. That's all...
Lightning entered from the windows and danced on the walls. The man got up to his feet again as he finally realised it was only beginning to pour outside. He reclaimed his composure and continued his walk to the end of the hall. It was a miracle that the fire he was holding didn't fall to the carpet.
Youngho was beginning to feel paranoid now. This house was not normal. He acknowledged how the further he went, the more louder his steps would become through the tapping of rain. But on top of that, there wasn't a single room in this hallway. There were no sights of any doors. Then why is it so long? After what seemed like a good 30 minutes, Youngho felt the need to place his hand on the wall as he walked. It was all getting tiring.
That was when he spotted a door not to far away from him. Youngho's eyes finally brightened up in the fire's glow. He was at the end. He finally saw the wall that ended the hallway, and he stood in front of the only door he could find. Now hopefully, the room wasn't locked, nor did it bare anything weird like corpses inside.
Youngho took a deep breath before reaching for the doorknob and pushing the wooden board open. When he walked, he was surprised when he found that it was just a normal bedroom. A huge house with only one room at the top floor? There has to be a trick. Youngho carefully looked around. He was waiting for something to come out of the room, but nothing happened.
Johnny walked inside, and once again, the door to the room blew shut and trapped him inside. The tall male began to pray to himself that nothing bad would happen. Inside the room, the sheer white curtains were closed with a blue-ish light coming from outside. There was a bed that was perfectly made, a small table near a corner, two seats, and two nightstands. Everything in this room looked new.... but the outside of the room, there were visible cracks on the walls...
Johnny walked in a bit deeper, being extremely careful about everything. There wasn't a single spec of dust anywhere. He walked over to the wardrobe and hesitantly opened it up.
Inside the wooden box, there was nothing... But clothes. Okay, so no surprise there. Everything inside seemed to be in good condition. All the shirts and pants were black. Johnny was confused. Maybe it's not a bad house after all. But... how did it all get here? He reached out to grab a hanger with a shirt on it. The material was very soft.
He was staying for only one night, but it looked as if luck was finally on his side for once. Johnny turned to the bed for a moment before deciding it was time to hit the hay. He took out a pair of the black pants and began to strip from the worn out clothes he had on.
A moment passed by. The newer black clothes he had on now felt so soft, he absolutely loved it. Although, it smelt a bit strange... Shrugging the feeling off, Johnny thought he would finally get a good nights sleep. Johnny began to walk over to the bed. But as he took his first step, the smell was getting stronger.
Suddenly, Youngho felt his head start to spin. His eyes were getting heavier and his legs began to wobble. Finding it hard to breathe, Youngho looked up to find a thick mist flooding in from underneath the door. It was the golden light from under the door and the compelling voice from within the room that he remembered seeing and hearing before loosing his balance and hitting the floor with a loud thud.
Youngho's world had gone black.
