- adora HATES fake fur (same here queen) because its a) nothing like the real thing, as she knows from having a cat gf, and b) it just. it gets caught on your nails for NO REASON and its horrid to touch and run your hands through unless extremely well made. ew.

- also velvet. am i projecting here? anyway, she just. hates the texture of velvet. like. it. its horrible. (no offense nd people who like velvet). one time catra wore a velvet suit to an event and she straight up couldn’t touch her at all. (catra wasn’t offended, esp once adora let her know) (they burned the suit) (glimmer was mad at them) (but it was hilarious)

- and sandpaper. she just. no. its all rough and horrible on her hands and bc she has all these calluses n shit it just. it makes her feel all weird and tingly and she does that thing where she just. recoils and FLAPS until they feel normal again

- grey ration bars! adora just. couldn’t handle the brown ones bc the texture was SHIT and in the end she just got stuck on the grey ones. also, she gets stuck on eating this one particular type of pasta because it just. it just. it’s nice okay? and catra knows she really likes it for more reasons than It Goes Well With The Cook’s Other Food (TM) so she makes it for her whenever adora manages to catch another cold from staying up late in the middle of winter AGAIN

- okay but apples. she literally... just.... no. (swift wind thinks she’s insane because he’s a fucking horse but each to their own yknow) and BROWNIES are just the BEST THING bc they’re like a perfect mix of grey and brown ration bars and they TASTE NICE! (when adora first saw them she thought they were brown ration bars ghnguytgtgjgvfg)

- cartography! adora’s biggest sp/in is cartography and she LOVES it and covers her entire room in maps for like a week until glimmer and bow encourage her to move the 99 billion detailed maps she makes of every single facet of etheria she needs to know for Diplomacy Things into an empty room. 

- after the war, she revisits all the maps and starts adding to them with plans for rebuilding and rehabilitation, etc. catra is floored by her ability and immediately starts to help her organise and make maps of new planets at adora’s request (its a shit ton of work ok)

- also Working OutTM because Sarah Tonin and its rewarding hgjhjjk

- YEE idk i just,,, i love the idea of catra playing guitar and teaching adora. bc somFt. adora is a pretty good student and have i mentioned that i think that fiddling with the guitar strings is an EXCELLENT stim? so its just. sensory heaven as well. and if catra (who is literally the softest fluffiest thing on earth) sits squished up with her, even better

- adora as a nonbinary any pronouns lesbian,,, ;w; yes,,,,,, hhhh they discover that he CAN in fact use they/them and he/him pronouns, as well as she/her and, dare i say, neopronouns, and just. everything suddenly makes a lot of sense. 

- immediately everyone goes fuckin yeah and uses adora’s pronouns correctly and even asks them what pronouns they’d prefer on different days, etc, and catra just gets so SOMFT for her joyfriend and how ecstatic they get when someone uses their other pronouns right

- adora binds! (sometimes! /pos) 

- they also get an undercut that just make euphoria go NYOOM and is super fun for stimming with!

Angst autistic!Adora hcs with the horde and shadow weaver being ableist?

:))))))))))) have some Pain (i’m good at it) - i’ve brought this up before but. ration bars. Shadhoe was confused by adora’s complete inability to eat the brown ones and once went apeshit on catra because she got it in her head that it was her fault (it wasn’t - adora actually gave her the bars she couldn’t eat) 

 - adora used to be terrible with social cues (and still is tbh,,,, feel that) and SW used to get really mad when she just went. silent. when she didn’t know how to respond to something. also. body language. she and catra developed their own little version, but something she still really can’t do is accept physical contact unprompted. like if its with catra then dope! go for it! because she knows what to do and she can safely predict what to respond with, but if sea hawk randomly hugs her then its like “AH. UM what. what do i do. like. pls don’t do that without telling me first. HHH. im. i don’t like this....” - i’ve also mentioned catra picking up all the things that she sees adora stimming with a few times and now i have an excuse to explain that it’s because SW HATED it whenever she picked up and fiddled with things, so it’s become instinct for adora to literally drop anything immediately after she realises she CAN stim with it. (catra notices this within a week after the war and eventually just starts picking up the things that she drops)

i went with canon-compliant hcs because,,, catra and dogs is actually so funny to think about, and ALSO neurodivergent adora getting a service dog 🥺🥺🥺🥺

- so adora is out on a mission doing something or other in the woods when she comes across this stray golden retriever just. wandering. and she and catra are like “huh” and after some begging glimmer and bow, they wind up taking him back to Bright Moon with them. they name him Celam, after some old prince’s name on a wall.

- Celam is a little shit half of the time and the other half he’s an excellent boio. like. adora will be having a sensory overload and he’ll come and sit with her and help her down, and if she’s Anxious Stimming TM he’ll put his head in her lap and she’ll automatically start stroking his head instead bc s o m f t. and he’s also an absolute bitch, especially because nobody really knows how to keep him from getting in and out of the palace and his favourite place in the world to pee is the kitchen floor.

- Celam and Melog are sworn rivals (in a good way ghjjgj), despite catra’s efforts. when Celam feels like it, he’ll jump into bed and SQUONCH up next to adora (effectively like a weighted blanket at her back bc catra is a weighted blanket at her front hgghghhgvgvg) and not to be outdone, melog will SQUONCH up in front of catra so its just a massive furry sandwich with adora in the middle in sensory heaven bc s o m f t

- okay so. the Hyperactive Thing. adora is ALWAYS thinking and sometimes moving as well, but mostly just. her mind is always buzzing, and you can bet that she’ll be noticing everything in the room as well as thinking randomly about pineapples (why can she smell pineapples? is it because she was thinking about them? well now she’s thinking about pine trees and WHY CAN SHE SMELL PINE TREES WHAT and now her leg is BOUNCING HJHGHJHGJ okay its fine because catra is PURRING OHMYG-D okay thats so cute and there are pineapples again thats fine SWORDS WEIGHST HEAVY THINGS could catra pick up her sword? its like a hologram,,,, hmm maybe they could do that between missions SPACE theyre going to SPACE AGAIN okay now shes making a weird noise,,, this is fine haha its the same weird noise that’s been playing in her head for the past 12 hours but its all good)

- idk about any other ADHDers but do you ever just have that,,, go-to stim that you find yourself doing when you’re like. stressed? okay so adora randomly starts bouncing her leg at like conferences and stuff. like. she doesn’t even notice until she kicks glimmer or something hghghgh

- RSD... oh man. RSD is short for Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria and it SUCKS ASS. esp when you’re the fuckin she-ra. so like. hhhhhhhhhh.

Dyslexic Adora hcs?

i don’t have as much knowledge of dyslexia as i do of ADHD and autism (a CRIME hhhh,,, literally i blame the british educational system for everything) so please let me know if i say anything bad/get anything ridiculously wrong! - so. “b”s and “d”s. they suck. LITERALLY. hhh. adora tends to read quite slowly so as to avoid getting them confused, as well as word order. SW used to HATE that but she couldn’t really do anything about it. also, the words blur and jump around on the page, especially when she’s tired or has a headache. she wears glasses a lot and that helps with the headaches, but the letters keep YEETING and it’s like holy SHIT - adora was trained by the Horde to have perfect handwriting but as soon as she doesn’t have SW breathing down her neck it turns back to how its supposed to be <3 (/pos). and her hand starts hurting a lot less!
