This is one of the best Michael Guerin’s character studies I’ve read in a long time. It is canon divergence, the story remains practically canonical up until the almost kiss at the toolshed, and then it goes on its own so beautifully that it caught me in and didn’t let me go until I had finished it.
The building of their new world away from Roswell but with the looming shadow of Jesse Manes over them is so amazing that it will leave you speechless if you haven’t read it yet. They way the orbit around each other and how they grow in a place that actually allows them to be themselves is so perfectly portrayed.
Worth every second spent reading.
