Ship of choice + “If I have to stop what I’m doing, you won’t be able to walk for the next week.”
My first attempt at Joavin–hope you like it! Written for the @riverdale-events Kink Week mini-games, and idea inspired by @rivendell101!

Joaquin bobbed hishead along to the music as he scrubbed yet another dish. It was one ofthe few chores that he really mind—that, and he loved the look on Kevin’s facewhen he realized that he wouldn’t have to do them. He was imagining that face just as a pair ofarms wrapped around his waist.
“Have I ever told youthat I love you more than anyone in the whole wide world?” Kevin murmured, pressing light kisses just below his ear.
“Only every day,” Joaquinreplied with a smirk. He refocused hisattention on the dishes—he was so close to the end of the pile. Before he could get anywhere, though, Kevin’shands started creeping down his stomach to his belt buckle. “What are youdoing, babe?” he asked, unable to contain his amused smile.
“Nothing,” Kevinanswered innocently, his breath hot against his neck. “Nothing at all, babe.” He had started unbuckling Joaquin’s belt, hismovements painstakingly slow.
“Kev, if I have tostop what I’m doing, you won’t be able to walk for the next week.”
Kevin let out a lowmoan, pressing his hips into Joaquin’s. Eventhrough their jeans, he could feel Kevin’s growing erection. “What if I don’twant to walk for the next week?”
Abruptly, Joaquinturned around, grabbing Kevin by the waist and finding his lips in a heatedkiss. “Don’t tease me unless you’re ready to get fucked, Kevin.”
“Oh, I’m ready, allright,” Kevin replied, running his hands through his boyfriend’s hair andpulling him impossibly closer. Holdinghis shoulders, he pulled Joaquin into the living room.
Once they were inthe living room, Joaquin yanked off Kevin’s shirt, tossing it aside before workingon his belt. He yanked his pants downroughly, letting Kevin kick them off before turning him around to lower himover the arm of the couch. “You ready, Preppy?” he murmured, teasing lightkisses over his shoulders as he yanked off his boxers.
“Please, Joaquin,”Kevin panted, rolling his hips into the couch. “Fuck me.”
“With pleasure.” Joaquin trailed his kisses lower. When he spread Kevin’s ass, his eyes widened.“Holy shit, Kev—you—” The words were lost on him—he was too distracted by the blackplug sticking out of Kevin’s ass. “You really were ready.” Slowly, he startedworking the plug out, one hand on his own cock, stroking his throbbing erection. Once he had it out, he leaned in close, nipping Kevin’s neck between hot kisses. “You better hold on tight, Preppy.”

Sooo, I posted another Riverdale fic!
It was so much fun to write Joaquin and Kevin the first time around and people were so nice that I just wanted to write more. But I needed a good idea, and it came to me when I realised they never talk about Joaquin lying to Kevin about their relationship, only that Joaquin was involved in hiding Jason’s body. So really, why should we as viewers assume Kevin knows what’s been going on?
It started just being an angry, confused conversation about being lied to, then that turned into angry, confused feelings about being left behind and that turned into porn. Ah, the fate of the fic writer.
I tried to infuse some more details I've picked up about comics-Kevin and yes, I made him like musicals. I could've tweaked this some more, but I had to post before S2 airs, since that will undoubtedly have zero Joaquin in it and Kevin moving on from him in a very different manner than this fic assumes!
Also, I’ve always felt Joaquin was a few years older, 17? 18? So that’s reflected in the fic.
Wow, this is really just an even longer a/n. I’ve always felt I want to cut down on my a/n on ao3, no idea why.
A/N: So, this is really short, but everyone was asking for a fic so here it is! I’ll do a longer one soon but I definitely wanted to get this one out because SO MANY of you were asking. I was very flattered that, that many people wanted me to write something! Enjoy!
It was the morning of homecoming and Kevin Keller had been pacing around his room all morning. He knew that he was going to take Joaquin, but he wasn’t sure that Joaquin wanted to go. Joaquin would want to keep up his Southside Serpent reputation, Kevin was convinced.
“Kev, you okay?” his dad knocked on the door. He walked in and saw Kevin pacing and trying very hard not to bite his nails. “Kev, what’s going on?” Kevin continued to pace but answered.
“I’m alright, just thinking about what shoes I’m supposed to wear with the suit I bought for homecoming.” He lied, he knew if his father found out he was dating a Serpent, he was done for.
“I liked the ones you picked out when you bought it, but if you’re second guessing, I think the black dress ones would go just as well.” Mr. Keller said and patted Kevin on the shoulder. Kevin flashed his father a small smile as he walked out the door.
Soon, Kevin heard knocking at his window. He turned around to see Joaquin hanging on tightly to the window ledge. He rushed over to the window to open it and as soon as he did, he was greeted with a kiss. Joaquin pulled himself in through the window into the bedroom.
“Hey, preppy.” he greeted once he was inside and had detached his lips from Kevin’s. “You okay, you look worried.” He took his head and led him over to the bed. The two sat on the edge, Joaquin rubbing circles into Kevin’s hand with his thumb.
“Ummm...” Kevin hesitated, not knowing whether or not he wanted to bring up what was making him so nervous. But he realized that it was Joaquin, his boyfriend, he could trust him. “So, I was just nervous that you only asked me to the dance because I wanted to go, and now you’re having second thoughts because it will ruin your reputation...” he quickly spoke and Joaquin was overwhelmed, but once he had heard what Kevin had said, he had been a little hurt.
“You think that I care more about my reputation than I do about you? Kevin, do you know how important you are to me?” He asked running his free hand through his hair. “You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I wouldn’t be worried about my reputation more than I would be worried about whether or not you’re happy.”
“It’s just, this is the first time I’m bringing a boyfriend to a dance, I wanted to make sure you wanted to be there too. It wouldn’t be as fun if you weren’t enjoying yourself.” Kevin explained looking at his feet.
Joaquin stood up and pulled Kevin up with him.
“I’m the first boyfriend you’re taking to a dance?” Kevin nodded. Joaquin sighed and kissed Kevin’s cheek. “Then this dance will be special, and I really want to go. It may not be my scene, but I think I’ll have a good time.” Joaquin reassured him. Kevin smiled.
“Joaquin Desantos, how did I get so lucky?” he asked and pressed his lips to Joaquin’s.
Note: I wrote this because I was fed up of expecting this kind of talk on the show. You can also find this on ao3 under TheKlainer (MoonlightShines)
Joaquin was lying upside down on Kevin’s bed, fiddling with a ruler as Kevin finished up his homework at his desk.
“I need that,” Kevin said playfully, as he rolled towards Joaquin with his office chair and snatched it out of his hand.
Joaquin rolled his eyes, and heaved out a heavy sigh.
“I promise I’m almost done,” Kevin said, “then we can do something fun.”
“Like what?”
“I don’t know, you want to watch a movie?”
“I’m here. At your house. In your bedroom. Waiting as you do calculus and trigonometry for an hour, and you want to watch a movie when you’re done?”
Kevin’s cheeks coloured. He hoped Joaquin wouldn’t pick on him for that. Screw him for just wanting to cuddle with his boyfriend for a bit.
Kevin dropped his calculator onto his graph paper. “Babe, we can do whatever you want in five minutes, just let me finish.”
Joaquin rolled off the bed and wrapped his arms around Kevin from behind his chair.
“Your schoolwork can wait, Keller.” He said lowly in his ear, “I can’t.”
Joaquin’s words spread a warmth in Kevin’s chest. He rotated his chair so that he was facing him again and Joaquin climbed onto his lap, tilting his head down towards Kevin’s so that his hair fell in front of his face. It was too tempting. He needed to finish the damn math. But Joaquin was there, on top of him, arms snaking around him, and he couldn’t stop himself. His hair was so beautiful.
Kevin took a strand and tucked it behind Joaquin’s ear.
Joaquin was so beautiful.
“Yeah?” Kevin’s voice hitched, eyes flitting from Joaquin’s eyes to his mouth.
“Yeah,” Joaquin breathed, and then they were kissing.
Kevin loved kissing Joaquin. For all the toughness he exerted his lips were soft, and he all but melted into Kevin’s embrace. Kevin’s heart was racing, he could almost hear the blood rushing through his veins, his hands almost shaking at the prospect of making him shiver under his touch. It made him feel powerful. How could he keep this treasure a secret? He wanted everyone to know. His friends (they did know, Kevin couldn’t help it), his classmates, strangers, his dad.
Look at this boy in my arms, he’s mine.
“Fuck homework,” Joaquin muttered after he kissed the pulse point on Kevin’s neck, trailing back up to meet his lips.
Kevin’s head was thrown back against the black leather of his chair, eyes closed and breaths laboured as he held onto the exhilaration and bliss that engulfed him.
“Fuck me.”
The weight on his lap disappeared instantly and Kevin opened his eyes slowly, jarred awake by Joaquin’s eerie silence.
He hadn’t meant to blurt that out. He hadn’t meant to at all, but it was what he wanted, wasn’t it?
Joaquin was half across the room, hands tugging his hair and eyes squeezed shut, pacing.
“Joaquin,” Kevin said hesitantly, “we don’t…There’s no pressure at all-”
“You want to be with me? Like-like that? For real?” His eyes were imploring, almost hopeful, and his mouth twitched up into a tragically beautiful smile.
Kevin was taken aback. “I… Yes. Of course, I do. Now or eventually, whenever. You’re my boyfriend.”
Joaquin’s eyes dimmed at those words, and his smile disappeared completely.
“No, I’m not, Kevin.”
Kevin got up from the chair and grabbed Joaquin’s hips. Joaquin’s eyes fell to where his hands were on his waist before looking up at Kevin.
“Joaquin,” Kevin said, soft and caring, “You are my boyfriend. I want to be with you. I don’t give a damn about you being a serpent. That doesn’t change anything.”
Joaquin pulled away from him angrily. It wasn’t fair. Being a serpent didn’t change things. It defined them. All this status, all the trouble he went through to be a part of something where he could take control of his life, and he couldn’t even get what he wanted. He didn’t need to be a serpent to get what he wanted. The only thing he actually ever felt like wanting. It was too late now. He could tell Kevin everything, and then he’d have nothing. FP would skin him alive. He’d be hated by half of the city’s most dangerous men for backstabbing them. Even worse, he’d be hated by Kevin. He’d be digging his own grave.
But Kevin didn’t deserve this. And Joaquin didn’t deserve this false taste of fantasy either.
“You don’t get it Keller,” Joaquin said, shaking his head. “This relationship you think we have? It’s fake! This was all fake. I’m not your boyfriend, okay? It was all a scam.” He’s yelling now, frustrated tears welling in his eyes.
“What?”
“You’re my job, Keller. I’m here because Jughead’s dad wants me to get information from your dad. I don’t even fucking like you!”
“That’s a fucking lie.” Kevin said, narrowing hard eyes at Joaquin. He sounded scary, and it surprised them both, Kevin never thought of himself as threatening, but he would never let himself be taken advantage of. It never happened, and it sure as hell wasn’t happening then. He had the ability to make his words drip with venom if he wanted to. He knew how to defend himself. “You don’t think I would know when someone is fucking with my feelings? Do you think I’d fall for that crap?”
Joaquin stared silently with his arms folded around his jacket. He had such sad eyes. It was something Kevin had a hard time wrapping his head around. How could Joaquin be pulled into a world so messy and violent like the South Side Serpents? He wasn’t aggressive at all.
Joaquin griped his jacket tighter, his knuckles going white. Why did Kevin have to be so smart? With a tilt of his head and a depreciative twitch of a smile he whispered, “I know.”
“Then tell me what the hell is going on.”
Kevin was stone cold angry, but Joaquin, Joaquin was crying.
“I like you. I like you a lot, Kevin. I fucked up. I-I’m falling in love with you.” Joaquin confessed, his voice cracking through his silent tears.
Kevin stood speechless.
Love?
“I can’t- I can’t . I can’t do this anymore without it being real. I want it to be real so bad, Kev.”
Kevin walked up to Joaquin, and wiped the wetness from his face with his hands. Kevin was taller than Joaquin, he stood over him defiantly, almost passive if not for his caring hands on him, visibly unaffected by watching the boy’s face crumple at his touch.
“Why are you crying? I’m the one who’s been screwed over.”
Joaquin swallowed a sob, “I’m upset,” he snarked, pushing away Kevin as he swiped at his eyes angrily.
Kevin stared at Joaquin, a sniffling mess in his bedroom. What a complex. A snake with a heart.
“You can’t be upset over something that isn’t real Joaquin.”
“…Okay?”
“Don’t you get it?”
“What? You want me to say it outloud? I want you. I fucked up. I just lost the one good thing going for me. I get it, okay?”
Kevin closed his eyes and exhaled slowly. When he opened them, Joaquin was still there, teary-eyed, heart opened and so so unlike the boy he made himself up to be.
Well, he decided, he’d have to show him.
“Was it your idea to get information from me?” Kevin asked.
Joaquin frowned, “…No.”
“Did you kiss me at the drive-in knowing who I was?”
“The truth?” Joaquin whispered, and Kevin nodded firmly.
“FP caught us making out and forced me to do it or else he said he’d find a way to make me regret it.”
Kevin made a face at the mental image of Joaquin being threatened by FP. He felt momentarily bad for Jughead. Then he thought, and hated himself for it, what else did FP force Joaquin to do?
“Do you know who broke into my house that night?”
Joaquin recoiled. “Someone broke in?”
“And stole all of dad’s case files on the case? Yeah.” He couldn’t help the bitterness that crept into his voice.
“No, I swear to god I have no idea.” Joaquin looked so pained Kevin was afraid he was going to throw up.
“Okay,” Kevin shushed him, bringing him in close and hugging him against his chest, “I believe you. It’s okay.”
It wasn’t though. The young serpent said so in protest. It couldn’t be okay, how could you let it be?
Kevin reached down for Joaquin’s trembling hand and squeezed it. “One last question?” He led to him to his bed, sitting crossed legged and insisting a hesitant Joaquin to follow suit.
Joaquin nodded, he’d tell him anything for the smallest chance of keeping Kevin in his life. For Kevin not to never want to see him again. Even if that meant he’d have to give him up.
“If you approached me that night at the drive-in on your own just because you liked me, then what about any of this is fake?”
“What?” Joaquin said blinking up at Kevin in shock. “I lied to you.”
“Yeah, and that really fucking sucks, but you actually decided to tell me when you didn’t have to.”
Joaquin frowned, “I was being selfish Kevin,” he admitted quietly, “I did it for myself.”
“No. You did it because you didn’t want to hurt me. I was willing to sleep with you and you realized not only how much you genuinely liked me, but how much you couldn’t bear me being tricked into thinking our relationship was “fake”. You can’t tell me that was selfish. No other guy would do that.”
“I-”
“Babe, I’m not an idiot. I knew you were a gang member from the beginning, but I trust you because believe it or not you’re not some scum serpent you’re making yourself out to be.”
“I don’t deserve you Keller.”
“Most don’t,“ Kevin sighed dramatically, done with the drama, done with the heartache, “live with it. You’re mine.”
It was the right thing to say. Joaquin finally understood. Kevin actually meant it. Everything really was okay. Joaquin knew that Kevin was resilient and strong minded, but he could have never thought he’d be so compassionate so fast. Kevin still wanted him. He wanted this to work as bad as he did. And just like that the fog was lifted and Joaquin’s signature smirk returned. “I’m yours, huh?” He teased, brushing their shoulders together.
“You heard right, what’re you gonna do about it?”
Joaquin kissed him hard. When he opened his eyes to his boyfriend’s expectantly closed ones, he bit his lip and smiled coyly.

Considering I’m just about to attempt a second Riverdale fic, I should probably pimp my first one.
It’s a rather confusing, smutty, angry story with a happy ending because Joaquin and Kevin deserved better in pretty much every way from here to Saturday. I’m quite pleased with it tbh with you, and people have been so nice about it! Seeing as it was so much fun to write, I’ll give it another go :)
They were such a lovely break from the core four, and I wanted so much more for them and of them, and while Joaquin leaving forever makes sense and Kevin will undoubtedly move on, I feel the time to write fic is now, before canon fucks me over.
A/N: I’m so sorry this took so long but I wanted to make sure it was good enough to post. There will be a second part eventually, but for now here this is! If anyone has a specific ship that want to see a fic of or a specific prompt and ship, message me! I hope you enjoy this!
Joaquin and Kevin walked hand in hand down the streets, while Kevin walked Joaquin back to the Southside. They were having a discussion, mostly nonsense, as they walked.
“Hey!” a loud voice from behind them boomed. Joaquin turned his head first and saw F.P Jones.
“Kev, I’ll be right back.” he kissed his boyfriend’s cheek and walked over to F.P. “What’s going on?” he asked. He knew F.P was looking for intel but he was going to talk to him later. While F.P thought that Joaquin was only with Kevin for intel, Joaquin was head over heels for him,
“Well, I assume you were on your way to talk to me.” F.P grumbled and glanced over at Kevin “And that he was long gone.” Kevin turned back to the way he was originally facing and opened his phone.
“Not yet, just being thorough.” Joaquin lied. Kevin, listening to bits and pieces of the conversation, sighed. He thought that this time was different, but he was wrong. He shoved his phone in his pocket and walked swiftly passed F.P and Joaquin.
“Where are you going?” Joaquin asked, pushing by F.P. Kevin ignored him and kept walking. Joaquin ran up to him and grabbed his shoulder and turned him around. “Where are you going? I thought you were walking me home…” Kevin closed his eyes, fighting back tears. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, a tear making its way down his cheek.
“I’m going somewhere that I wanted, cause obviously I’m not wanted here.” he quickly ran back to Betty’s.
“Betty I was so stupid.” Kevin cried. Betty hugged him close as he cried. Jughead sat in the corner looking at them. He knew that Betty loved Kevin, they were close and so he wasn’t jealous. That and Kevin was extremely gay.
“Joaquin is the stupid one, Kev. You’re a catch and if he can’t see that, then he doesn’t deserve you.” she responded.
“Yeah, Kev. He needs to see how great you are and obviously he didn’t.” Juggie looked at Betty and she blushed. Kevin smiled at him. “And, I’m sorry my father put you through this.”
While Kevin was sitting with Betty and Jughead, Joaquin was at a gym. Joaquin was at a gym, at a punching bag. He hadn’t stopped hitting the bag since he had got there.
“Hey, you okay?” Archie walked over to the bag, putting his water bottle down to start punching the bag next to Joaquin.
“No, I made a mistake today and i don’t think I can fix this.” he stopped hitting the bag and began to breath easier. “I hate myself and I hate being a serpent because it hurts everyone I love. My brother and I were getting by, but I got pulled into being a serpent and he left. My parents died when I was younger and that really hurt. I needed a place to blow off steam and be destructive and now that’s who I am. Kevin was the first good thing that’s happened to me for a long time and I blew it. I loved him, Archie. Hell, I love him.” Joaquin was close to tears and Archie stopped his work out.
“Have you told him?” he pat the serpent on the back and led him over to a bench on the side of the gym. Joaquin took his gloves off and put his head in his hands.
“I wasn’t ready,” he replied. “He is the sheriff’s son, the case is still in full swing and I didn’t want to put more pressure on him. I didn’t want him to feel like he had to say it back.” he explained tiredly. Archie frowned at him. He knew what it was like to wait too long to tell someone you love them. He didn’t want anyone else to feel that way.
“Why don’t you try talking to him?” Archie suggested. “Tell him that you love him?” Joaquin shook his head and frowned. He knew Kevin was too far gone to listen to him. He broke his heart and it was breaking his as well.
“It’s a lost cause. He’s broken hearted and it’s my fault. Look,” he said standing up “I have to go, but thanks for the help Archie.” Joaquin walked out of the gym leaving Archie on the bench alone.
Soon Kevin was back home, he laid in his bed with his laptop on his lap, a box of fries and a milkshake from Pop’s that Betty had brought him. He turned on the Gilmore Girls to cheer himself up.
“You just need to wallow.” Lorelai told Rory, the episode where Dean and Rory had broken up. Rory makes a list and puts her mind to doing all of the things she needs done which Kevin thought about doing, but he was too sad to even write anything down, he didn’t get out of bed for the next week. Betty went to check on him everyday and bring him food.
“Kev, you need to get up.” she sat him up in the bed and help him to the shower. He got dressed and laid back in bed. “Come to Pop’s with us. Me, Juggi and Archie are all going and we want you to come.” she grabbed his hand and walked with him to Pop’s. The other boys were sitting at the table with menus when they got there.
“Hey, Kev, glad you came.” Archie smiled and pat the seat next to him. Kevin sat down next to him. Once they had all ordered Kevin had begun to participate in the conversation. He was laughing, making sassy comment and just all around enjoying himself. They quickly finished their meals and walked outside.
“Joaquin?” Kevin gasped, he felt sick. He froze in place looking into the serpent’s blue eyes. He stared back at Kevin. He didn’t feel sick though, he had butterflies. He was walking towards Kevin.
“Kevin, I wanted to talk to you.” Joaquin stood right in front of him. Kevin, still in a state of shock. “I’m so sorry about what happened,” he shakily stepped closer. Kevin made no attempt to move. His heart was beating a mile a minute, his eyes brimming with tears.
“You broke my heart,” he started shakily. “You faked dating me because I’m the sheriff's son. You wanted to make sure you and your people were safe. Well congratulations, they’re safe because as upset as I am, I would never hurt you that way. They’re important to you, like I thought I was.” Kevin all but screamed. The emotions that his voiced conveyed was so intense that Joaquin flinched. He had to say it soon or Kevin would be gone for good this time.
“Kevin Keller, don’t you dare say I don’t care about you.” Joaquin’s tone now matched the other boy’s. “I care more about you than anyone. You’re so important to me, Kev.” he grabbed his hands. “I love you.” Kevin’s eyes went wide and he was holding his breath. “I don’t take those words lightly. I only say them when I mean them. I love you so much, you will never understand how much I love you. I will do anything for you to forgive me.”
“How do I know this isn’t all an act?” Kevin’s hand shook as he looked into Joaquin’s blue eyes.
