I love the gods. I’m writing a research paper on Hekate and Nephthys and several times now I’ve seen Vultures (a symbol of Nephthys) and crows (Hekate) side-by-side or touching one another
⚰️Subtle Nebthet Worship🫂
Greatly inspired by @khaire-traveler's wonderful subtle worship series, which can be found here.
Visit cemeteries; leave flowers at graves (with permission); or help clean up gravesites (if allowed)
Allow yourself to mourn over difficult changes or the end of relationships; allow yourself to miss people
Learn about and uphold Ma'at
Make a playlist or listen to songs that remind you of her or you think she'd like
Make a collage/moodboard/pinterest board/similar collection of photos and images you associate with her, especially if some of the images are your own
Wear a piece of jewelry or other clothing item that reminds you of her
Light a candle or incense that reminds you of her (safely)
Carry a picture of her in your wallet, pocket, phone case, etc. or as a phone or computer wallpaper
Have kite imagery
Honor your ancestors/souls that have passed
Hold onto any family heirlooms; keep items from people who have passed in your life
Support humanitarian organizations, especially funeral funding or suicide prevention ones
Learn about death; acquaint yourself with the idea of death; figure out what you believe happens after death
Help out those who are grieving (cook them a meal, help pay for funeral services, be a shoulder they can cry on, etc.)
Learn about or practice fibre arts especially weaving
Learn about different mummification practices especially Egyptian ones
Remember that rest is productive; take breaks when you need them
Make charms/other items for deceased loved ones especially protective ones or ones with his image and leave them on their gravesites (if possible) or on an ancestor altar
Spend time with friends and family (blood or chosen)
Send a nice message to your loved ones/check in on them regularly
Stand up for family members blood or otherwise (keep in mind they might be in the wrong)
I may add more to this list in the future. Suggestions are always appreciated.

Lady of the House, Lady of Respite,
I kneel in your presence,
A thousand offerings left at your feet!
Last born of the shining ones,
Great Mistress over Life,
I praise you always!
You who are humanity’s silent companion,
You who bring us comfort and care,
May we serve you always!
Lady of Mourning, Lady of Joy,
May your heart be satisfied on every Zep Tepi!
My newly assembled altar, kept in my bedroom!
EPAGOMENAL DAYS, DAY 5: BIRTHDAY OF NEBTHET
Dua Nebthet, Youngest Daughter, on this the fifth of the Epagomenal Days! And, technically, the FINAL Epagomenal Day! Today, I celebrate you with a blackberry-ganache cheesecake!
This recipe is actually a family recipe, technically speaking, though if you're looking to make Nebthet a cheesecake (which is a favorite offering for folks to give to Her!), then any cheesecake recipe or pre-made cheesecake will do! The key difference between my family's recipe and standard New York style cheesecake recipes is we eliminate any lemon from the recipe. Granted, a lemon cheesecake can be nice, but a standard cheesecake for us has no lemon at all, and has a nice buttery graham cracker crust.
This one I topped with a similar "wing it" ganache like yesterday's recipe, this one being white chocolate chips with blackberry jam mixed in (and some white ganache which is just white chocolate chips with a touch of milk to smooth it and keep it from hardening all the way). With how rich cheesecake is, I'm freezing the remaining slices to enjoy at later dates!
Dua Nebthet! Nekhtet!!
Tomorrow is Wep Ronpet! May you all have a lovely evening, and I look forward to seeing a new morning and the beginning of a new year with you all!
