i know you said you shan’t but truly if you ever wanna i would love to hear abt ur pyro!fitz ideas because… 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀…
1 thing abt me I AM EASILY PEER PRESSURED...
once again... hi cas @everyonehasthoughts <3
the thing abt pyro fitz is like its an au within an au with an au. two levels of hell but also kind of three.
level 1 - the one where he manifests during alden's mind break and hides it until fintans mind healing. more on that below
level 2 - mentor gethen spinoff where gethen triggers his pyrokinesis and umm. mansplain manipulate not so much malewife (unless you count elwin???)
LEVEL 1:
smthng smthgn luzia vacker voting to ban pyrokinesis/ most vackers intentionally inhibition of manifestation to the point where the ability is extremely dormant
fitz manifests during aldens mindbreak when theres a lot of emotional turmoil. he cannot expose this Especially as a Vacker lest he be put under more pressure
then comes fintan's mind healing and the everblaze. fitz tries to control it (but is clearly inexperienced) and fintan realizes this, cant resist a young pyrokinetic, scoops him off.
fitz is presumed dead
(also time to mention that he sustained scars from the destruction of oblivimyre. they're shaped like tears)
fitz is not brought to the neverseen. fintan at least realizes he would never agree under those circumstances, so he is isolated.
fintan convinces fitz he is too dangerous and everyone will hate him if he goes back, makes him think HE triggered the everblaze
somewhere along the way the song twins come across him, befriend him, and convince him to escape. linh parallels with atlantis and hydrokinesis etc. soray marella....
then neverseen exillium era where he's reunited with the rest of the keeper crew!!!!! however he hides his identity with a mask. tam tells them its cuz of his scars (which isn't that far off but its more related to the fact that he's scared of how they'll react).
also note fitz does not attend exillium during this time but helps the twins look over their camp. (this probably gives him more insight into the gnome issue later but i just thought of this implication now whoopsies !!)
thats the extent of this au actually. uhhh he comes back to elvin society 4ever changed amen yayy
LEVEL 2:
again w the extremely suppressed pyrokinesis
gethen triggers it when he senses fitzs potential while reading his mind during the troll baby hive confrontation. none of those words were in english
the main thing he notices is how hot it is & how similar it is to fintan n brants minds
also note that in terms of keefe's weird ability detecting shit(whichhh is later but if this were the scenario) he would not register this as pyrokinesis. like with the telepath emotional center with all the feelings correlated with certain colors and sensations -> keefe is like. bro why are you so pissed . fitz is like wtf are u talking abt
also something something how forkle triggers sophies abilities. tho gethen may not possess as much prowess as the forkman so he has other... unconventional methods
(he is not exempt from arson just bc he is not a pyrokinetic. in fact i think he would be even more inclined to set a forest on fire)
with this strategy gethens all "ur the only one who can save them (gnomes??/ trees??). or it or whatever" and fitz says 'HOW?!?!?! theres no water no floof dust or wtv etc etc' and gethen watches until fitzs instincts kick in
this leaves fitz very vulnerable to gethen. sorry we cannot stop giving him bad mentors its like the anakin palpatine curse
fast forward to some standoff and theres flames nearby that get larger as fitz gets angrier (most likely due to alvar....)
sophie calls marella to make her stop it and shes like wdym that aint me and i cant stop it and then it becomes clear that they're behaving according to fitz's feelings. but they wont address that will they
gethen taunting fitz YIPPE
laterr marella goes to fintan in his stupid ice cage and demands he tell her how to control other pyrokinetics' flames, in which he realises theres Another one
goes 'you sly dog gethen youu'
gethen who feeds the fire in fitz via emotional center (either transmitting crazy ideas as he does orrr triggering memories)
and then on the offshore there's grady and something abt a sophitz/jolie brant parallel. he warns fitz about his potential , yada yada yada. The end ish ! thanks for reading dont forget to like & subscribe 🤩🤩
HEHEHEHE IM GLAD U HAD FUN… network effect reading experience truly is crazy because you’re like. man that’s a crazy sequence of events. i wonder how theyre gonna wrap this up. and then you remember its a proper novel and you’re a quarter in. and events just KEEP happening. and art is there <3
YEAH EXACTLY. the rest being novellas lulled me into a false sense of security. obviously I knew going in this was a full novel, but i was still unprepared when I got to what would've been the climax if it was a novella and i remembered there was still like 250 pages to go and all of this was just set up
i was like what else could POSSIBLY happen? how could we escalate from this? and then i Found Out. what do i do with myself now
no pressure whatsoever but i just wanted to say that I LOVE yichen and i would deeply love to hear more about the silly
Here’s his general background! 💖
Yìchén is a pirate, sort of, more of a tolerated stowaway of the crew but he does decent enough work, and he doesn’t have much other choice. He did come from wealth an privilege, but was outed as a gay man and sentenced to death for it. He managed to make a break for it before they seized him in his home.
the crew that found him stowing away on their ship was sympathetic enough to his plight, and agreed to allow him onboard as long as he could pull his weight enough. They don’t know about him being half-mer. This arrangement doesn’t last very long— he saves a man named Dante (who belongs to @allysdelta !) from drowning, and they later end up leaving the ship together.
The Navy ended up catching up to him however, and Yìchén, Dante and the crew ended up seperated, with Yìchén imprisoned aboard the Navy Ship. Lead by man named Captain Keyne Whittaker.
They found out he was half-mer, and end up torturing him to bring out his latent powers. It works! But Yìchén also uses them to escape, and now he seeks out his old crew and Dante
Him and another half-mer named Stel he met, who knows what he is and is very confused that he’s trying to hide it.

(💙: Which character is not as hot as everyone else seems to think?)
Controversially, I think Keefe is just mid. Also, despite running this blog, I do not understand the Bronte thirst that sometimes goes around.
(💜: Which character is way hotter than everyone else seems to think?)
Prentice could get it, tbh. Also Noland??? like he did not have to be that hot but they really made him like that.
(💖: What is your biggest unpopular opinion about the series?)
Honestly I think most of my opinions are fairly conventional, but maybe i've just surrounded myself on tumblr with folks who are weird about keeper in the same ways that I am. One of the ones that I think the fewest folks agree with is that Emery is actually a really interesting character, and underrated in the fandom.
(💀: If you had to choose one major character to die, who would you choose?)
Hard choice. I kinda want one of the main crew to die, which sounds horrible but I think it could be interesting. Other than that, Bronte.
🦮 three days ago jack picked up his new friend, his comrade, his companion at the nevermoor bazaar. morrigan and jupiter are only mildly concerned about this.
He kept whispering at it. Bent over, careful as a lover. The words were difficult to make out but what she did hear, made her slightly want to vomit.
Morrigan shared a look with Jupiter, "Is he alright?"
He shrugged, completely affable, "All teenagers go through phases like this with their bling. It's completely normal."
"Jupiter."
He swung his legs down, "Yes, alright, I'll deal with it."
pleasey please if you don’t mind can yuo tell us more about alexei and his no good very bad time of it… also may i enquire if you have any drawings/picrews/jus. descriptions of your ocs. for Reasons 👍
this ask snapped me out of 2 mind-numbing hours of Roblox Block Puzzle I can absolutely begin yapping. keep reading cause it's kinda long. also thank you for the ask I love talking abt these guys
so Alexei is Arthur's boybestfriend. he is the only person in the world (during his lifetime) who sees Arthur as more of a person than a tool. he sees Arthur's cracks of self hatred, moments of comedy, soft side, etc. he falls in deep love with this person he sees and becomes obsessed with the idea that Arthur is fundamentally better than anyone else there, including him.
at the same time, Alexei rides the struggle bus for like. several reasons. his parents are abusive, he struggles to do "normal" magical tasks in the way most others do, he doesn't know how to talk out his emotions without punching shit, and he's horrified as he grows up and is expected to bow to the expectations of a religion that keeps hurting him. the ideals of their religion appeal to most people, including Arthur, because they promise safety. But Alexei has never felt safe, so it doesn't work on him the same way. this pushes him to investigate more and more corruption, and ultimately culminates in the grand plan that he needs to *get the fuck out of there*. unfortunately. he is Arthur's boybestfriend. so when he plans to leave---and if possible, wreak havoc on his community afterward---he tells Arthur. Arthur, who still believes the only way to be safe is to follow the strictly set rules.
Arthur tells a priest in a panic, and is promptly tasked with killing Alexei !
now, this like. happens. Arthur is conflicted but ultimately he does it, because in his mind, Alexei is already dead--he never believed Alexei could escape, but he thought they could just stop it with a harsh punishment that wasnt death. now alexeis options are "be killed by someone who cares and will make it quick" or "be killed by someone who will want Alexei to suffer for his beliefs the whole time", so he kills Alexei the night they're supposed to "escape", when they're both almost 21. this pushes him fully into the deep mental breakdown he didn't realize he'd been approaching for the last, like, ten years. Arthur runs away, leaving alexei's body and his community. Arthur's (betrothed) fiancée, Penelope, finds this body. she makes a deal with the priest / their god that if she brings Arthur back and punishes him accordingly, she will become a priest herself (which gets status and extra magic). she, a very punishment-oriented person, decides the way she is going to bring Arthur back is through reviving Alexei. this is where the struggle bus starts speeding.
revival in this universe is an exchange---your body doesn't rot/change. instead, your soul does. this makes a revived body that is pale and cold and unbreathing but also stronger and swifter than normal, with a rapidly degrading personality. the longer Alexei is revived, the more he's forced to feel himself turn from that hot-headed, emotional, justice-driven person he was, and into the opposite; a numb soldier with a closed heart. he feels every second of this, on top of the pervasive feeling that he *should not be alive*. he also, like. fucking hates Arthur. even before his personality starts decaying. he's so, so angry, and under Penelope's control (which only increases), begins stalking Arthur in both dreams and the waking world (as a revived ghost can do) and taunts him, argues with him, fights him, etc. all to try and force him back in the most painful way possible. he never outright just kidnaps him, because that wouldn't be enough. he wants arthur to have matching scars, physical and mental. additionally, the entire time there's a storm of love and anger swirling together inside him mixed with total despair that he knows he won't be able to figure out his feelings before they rot away entirely. he also knows that once your soul is done, your body collapses once more, and no one really knows where you go after that. it is, on all levels, a fate worse than death.
fundamentally, Alexei spends the entire novel scared. his life is built around fear of what he's going to do and fear of losing arthur, and his death is built around fear of what he has become, what will happen to him, and what this means about himself and the man he loves?/loved?. he is a bright eyed underdog who's supposed to be a hero, supposed to change the world for the better, but is slaughtered before he gets a chance.
that is my thoughts for now thank you for asking :) and I have picrews of both Alexei and Arthur
red hair is Alexei (wings are metaphorical). dark hair is Arthur, who at a certain point is also depicted having had his left eye stabbed out. they are both long hair men because I like long hair man designs :)
+ bonus actually I have drawings I did of them
(the watermark is just my insta I nabbed these from there cause that's where I post 99% of my art for this wip)
