Ned Nickerson is really the perfect boyfriend❤️❤️❤️❤️. He truly supports nancy drew in all things. He doesn't have a single flaw, he'd amazing. Some ppl say he is a Gary sue, but I'd rather have him than any male lol. Nancy's hometown is truly remarkable for not having a single sexist male character.

If nancy drew was male and ned Nickerson female then no one would question their relationship.

If the genders were flipped they’d be Fenton and laura hardy lmao. But you’re not wrong. I’ve said before that I think some people are more uncomfortable with a powerful woman than they think in Nancy’s relationship. Believing that Ned can’t be an equal because he’s not a detective, as an honor student who makes Varsity on at least 3 sports at once. That’s like thinking Superman and Lois are a bad match, but honestly less crazy. I love all four but at least I can see where the mistakes for Ned come from.

He does have a few, but that would require Her to focus on him and that’s mostly where tumblr’s opinions form on Ned. Jealousy isn’t even one of them even though people do name that as one, but usually he’s written ooc for that to happen which is why most fans (who read) write that one off.

Although I should say, he’s not from her hometown. Sorry. I’m the Ned expert. It must be done. Mapleton is roughly 30 minutes to an hour away. And y’know he was also written from 1932 onward….so not sexist by those standards. Better than the hardy boys because he genuinely had to be. He had to appeal to girls. And he did. Also a slight role model for the husbands they would seek in the future.

He’s really just capable of whatever Nancy seems to will into existence for him.
