AIO I told my bf he’s neglectful.
We have a 7 month old and 2 other kids. I told him he is not providing or being present. I have no income and it’s been difficult to find employment. He wants me to cook, clean and just be a mom (housewife). I feel exhausted and he says he provides financially. Although he monitors what I buy and it’s mostly household items/food and occasional clothing. When he is home he only speaks to know if food is ready. Other than that he is off on his phone. I do not know how to voice my concerns because when I do. I’m told I’m acting like a victim
Reddit consensus: NOT OVERREACTING (NOR) (100% confidence)
Top comment: “NOR - You are acting like a victim because you are a victim. What you are a victim of is called financial abuse, it's targeted and intentional so that you don't have the means to do anything for yourself (and so that you cannot leave when you get sick of his bullshit).”
Notable comment: “NOR but it seems like you've got a pretty dispate set of expectations between the two of you. Do you want to be a stay at home mom? Does he interact with the kids at all? Does he do any chores? Working 40 hours a week is much less labor than 24/7 childcare and housekeeping, it's completely reasonable to expect him to contribute to the house outside of just finances”
