*Being led by their noses, Rebecca and Emily are coming down for dinner*

Emily: Mmm, something smells tasty!

Rebecca: Well I suppose we deserve a break, Emily, that was rather a good rehearsal. We can continue with the second act tomorrow.

*Samantha and Nellie are coming out of the den and are passing by as Rebecca and Emily reach the bottom of the staircase*

Nellie: Look, Samantha, I'm not saying you shouldn't protest injustice, but...well, I'm not sure I entirely believe your motive this time.

Samantha: What do you...

*Emily stumbles on the stairs as one of her loose sandals falls off in mid-step and her bare foot misses the stair. She is caught by Nellie*

Nellie: Whoa Emmy! Are you okay?

Emily: *Blushing at her own clumsiness, as she straightens up and recovers her footwear* Yes, um, I'm fine, thank you.

Samantha: So, um...how's the play rehearsals going, Rebecca? *Samantha fiddles with a strand of hair that's escaped from her ponytail*

Rebecca: It's going rather well actually, thank you. Emily's got all the signs of a star in the making!

Emily: Oh, I'm not that good really...

Rebecca: And very modest too. I'm surprised you didn't want to perform as well, Sam?

Samantha: Who, me? *blushes and looks away* Oh, I'm not a very good singer...

Nellie: Really? *looks rather sceptically at Samantha* I've heard you singing Samantha, you have a lovely voice!

Samantha: Well, maybe alone in my room...

Rebecca: I'd love to hear you sing sometime, maybe? *Samantha's eyes get rather big*

Samantha: Uhh, I think we should be getting along to dinner now? *Samantha heads off to the dining room, followed by Rebecca, with Emily and Nellie trailing behind them*

Emily: Aww, how sweet...

Nellie: What's sweet, Emily?

Emily: Why, Samantha's crush on Rebecca of course!

Nellie: What? She doesn't...I mean, you think she... *Nellie looks a little...downcast. She smiles weakly when Emily glances over at her though*
