Nelya!! Thanks so much, always, for checking in on me. I'm really sorry for taking so long to reply this time. I know I’ve told you not to apologize when you take your time to respond to me, but I can’t help feeling bad about putting off replying to you. I’ve done it too many times, and it feels unfair to you since you always try your best to respond as soon as you can. Lately, I’ve been so bad at managing my focus, and that’s made me forget things a lot—like replying to texts (and in this case, Tumblr Asks)😞 Please forgive me.

October and November were… a bit disappointing if I look at them in terms of my goals. But on the flip side, I managed to achieve things I didn’t plan for—so maybe it’s a win-win? That’s also why I stopped posting updates about my Year-End Sprint; everything’s been so off track, lol. I read somewhere that sharing goals online can sometimes make you achieve less because it gives you a false sense of accomplishment after posting. Maybe that’s what happened to me :v

But on the bright side, it’s not like I wasted my time—I did accomplish things, just not in the direction I initially wanted. I think I need to adjust my plans a bit, but also learn to enjoy the process instead of being too strict with myself.

Nelya the Dunmer oc under the cut

Backstory:

Nelya was born, without her knowledge, as the descendant of a bastard of Voryn Dagoth (later known as Dagoth Ur), born to simple farmers outside of Raven Rock. She was unusually skilled in magic from a young age, and sought out the Telvanni Wizard, Neloth, who took her under as an apprentice. Neloth’s experimented on Nelya using the heartstones of Solstheim and the power of the stones (infused with the strength of the Heart of Lorkhan) had a similar effect on her as to her ancestor, Dagoth Ur, causing her to grow an eye in the center of her forehead, which granted her special abilities. She lashed out at Neloth for forcing this change on her, and left his tower, striking out on her own.

Appearance:

Nelya is a fairly tall (5′10″), thin Dunmer with a peculiar sideways eye in the center of her forehead. Her skin is ashen grey, and she possesses a few traditional Dunmer facial tattoos. Her eyes are a darker red than a typical dunmer’s, and she has black hair, typically tied back in a ponytail, with the exception of a single braid that hangs free.

Nelya wears simple red and black leather armor underneath a hooded black cloak, with a red (or black, depending on her mood) cloth tied around her forehead to hide her extra eye.

Personality:

Nelya is an often silent person, though when she speaks, she is intense and dominates almost any conversation she’s in. Though she’s usually aware of her limitations, Nelya has a tendency to get overconfident and mess up.

Skills:

Nelya has a special talent for destruction and illusion magic, is skilled at moving without a sound, and is capable of doing terrible damage with a dagger. She has a special ability to kill on sight using her third eye, though doing so causes all three eyes to bleed, and leaves her blinded for up to 4 days, though once she uses it, she can keep using it until she’s safe.
