Like, most MMOs use this feature and that’s fine. But what I hate about it is that after a game has served it’s purpose, or the company can’t keep it up and running, or the creator just up and decides they don’t want to work in the game anymore; that’s it. The game’s gone. Poof! It can’t be recovered because it ran on a server, and that server’s shut down and there’s no physical hard copy to recover it from.
It’s insane and it’s awful. So much blood, sweat, and tears go into the creation of these games and now they’re gone.
Anyone remember playing Neosaurs on Facebook? Probably not, but god I loved that quirky Maplestory ripoff game about dinosaurs. Can’t hardly find any images for that game, much less content related to it.
Same goes for mobile app games. I miss playing Tiny Deathstar. I miss a lot of online only games.
i had to get these out of my system <3 i miss you dinosaur maple story and your ridiculous outfits
[ ID: The first image is of an orange Trex in top dressed as a wizard with a pointy hat, collar, large blue pearl necklace, and a skirt-like garment. It also has wings (it looks more like a dragon). It’s tail has a fireball at the end and next to its mouth is a burst of fire. Along its back are purple spikes. At the bottom is a dark red Trex with a dark brown galea and back armor with similar colored spikes along the back. It has knee and shoulder pads along with a skirt-like garment. It’s tail is like an an axe.
The second image has a green Triceratops with long fangs running with long curling horns, a helmet, and black and gold body armor on top. It also wears black and gold “fingerless” gloves. At the bottom is a rock-like Styracosaurus with boulders on its head, back, and spiked tail (like an Ankylosaurus). It wears a gold headdress with a large blue gem in the middle with wings. It has a long cloth around the bouldered back with three dangling clothes from it. It also has a large orange pearl jewelry wrapped around the side of its head. Surrounding the dinosaur are levitating boulders.
The third image has a red, vaguely Pterosaur-like creature on top with a gold helmet with colorful feathers, one long red feather sticking out. It has pinkish claws with its red arms and colorful wings. It’s tail is also equally colorful. It wears a turquoise cloak and a bright blue “beak armor” at the tip of its beak. At the bottom is a muted purple/gray Pterosaur-like creature with a similar pointy hat to the Trex. It has a golden necklace with blue under-armor. It wears knee pads and has three gold piercings on each wing. End ID]
A second lineage of endothermic geckos has evolved by 200 million years in the future. These have been colloquially nicknamed “neosaurs”. Their filamentous pelage is derived from the epidermal scales present in squamates. This fuzz may be coarse or soft to the touch depending on species. Unlike the eublepharid geckos they are descended from, neosaurs do not eat their shed fuzz; it generally molts on its own, with old filaments being pushed out by new ones growing underneath. So far, they range in size from 20 cm to a little under a meter in length. They may seem humble in the Solanan period, but they are destined for great things to come.
Siberogekko is found in the coniferous forests of Eurasia. It is an agile and swift leaper, and adept at climbing trees. Its tail is prehensile and can help it grab branches, but it is not strong enough to support the entire weight of the body. Siberogekko eats insects, small mammals, smaller reptiles, and tastier plant parts. Individuals may associate with Avititan in a loose symbiosis; a Siberogekko will ride a “host” Avititan through the forest, and clean its skin of biting insects and bloodsucking nails on the way.
I've updated this old shimeji I made. Now has shimeji chooser icons for each of the Neosaurs. (along with a new animated preview show casing the shimeji)
It has every Neosaur color you can pick in the game back when it was around. Along with every eye type. So you can have your exact Neosaur from back in the day! ^^
The image is just a preview, the animations are longer, smoother, and more complex than seen here.
Berserker from an old facebook game called Neosaurs. I made the stand image for him awhile ago and realized I never posted him on here. He's going to be a challenging shimeji to finish for sure when I get back to working on it.
If these characters were made as Shimeji would you use them? And if yes which one?
Yes, all 6 of them
Berserker (number 1)
Pyro Drake (number 2)
Impaler (number 3)
Earth Guardian (number 4)
Aeromancer (Number 5)
Frost Warden (Number 6
None of them

Been working on some other drawing projects, not sure how many of you guys remember/played this game, but I was drawing some Neosaurs characters. These being the temporary evolution classes you could get in the game once you hit level 50. Most of them are just sketches but I wanted to show them off now. ^^
Made a poll above since I'm just curious If anyone would actually use them if I end up making them into shimejis (Which are Desktop pets). They would be free to download if I end up making them. ^^
I do wonder how many people still remember this game in general since it was an old Facebook MMO game that's been gone for years now. (been listening to the music that still exists of the game on Youtube and it's been taking me back, good times.)
For people who don't know what Neosaurs is and wonder what these evolution classes looked like in game here is what they look like. (Pyro Drake is what I picked to be back when the game was around. ^^ Also should go without saying, but the art below isn't mine, just reference of what they looked like in game when the game still existed.)
Leviathan telling you to: Have a super day! right before summoning a Neo Tyrannosaurus, 2 Pyro Neosaurs, 8 Stealth Neosaurs, and an infinite wave of Raptors.
