Previous Chapter
Ruby stared out the window from the back of the Impala, watching the world outside zoom by as Dean drove. When Cas brought the twins back to where the Winchesters were, the female Nephilim had heard a cry for help and then screams. But, she couldn’t go anywhere because Dean had begun talking to her and her brother.
"Look, after listening to Sammy talk…I've decided that we can stay here in this world for a little bit." Dean tells them.
The twins looked at each other excitedly before Dean called for their attention again.
"BUT, only after you two bring my car here." the oldest Winchester says.
The twins nodded their heads before grabbing each others hands and holding their free hands up. Their blue eyes began to glow a golden color and another doorway appeared. They still held hands as they began to slowly pull their outward arms to themselves. The doorway wavered before a familiar car began to emerge out of the doorway. Once the whole car came through, the doorway closed up and disappeared. The twins were still holding hands, eyes still glowing when Castiel pushed them apart from each other. The twins blinked their eyes as if to snap out of a daze before looking at the black old fashioned car before them.
"Get in" Dean tells them, moving to get into the driver's seat.
Sam moved to the other side of the car, opening up the passenger door, sliding into the seat. Jack opened the back door on the passenger side and let his sister in first before getting in behind her then closing the door.
"I'll meet you guys where ever you guys end up." Castiel said before vanishing.
The feeling of the Impala coming to a stop drew the Kline girl out of the memory. She sat up to look out the front windshield to see Dean had parked in front of some kind of run down store. Melvald's General Store the sign on the front read.
Dean looked over his shoulder at the twins, "We're only getting a few necessities. Now, lets go." he tells them.
Everyone piled out of the car and headed for the store. When Dean pulled the door open, a little bell sounded. The four of them all walked into the store before the Winchester brothers split off from each other, each gathering different items. Chief Hopper and Joyce Byers who had just been talking, looked over to see who had walked in, only to be surprised by four new faces. They watched as two guys split up and began to head down different isles but, the two young teens that came with them just stood near the entrance of the store. Hopper was about to go over to them to say something when he was called over his walkie-talkie.
"Hey, yeah…I'm a little busy right now." he answered.
He could then faintly make out the sounds of yelling coming from the other side of the device.
"Well, I'm busier over here. If you want to have your job tomorrow then you need to get your ass down to Town Hall. Now!" his partner said.
Hopper sighed before, looking over at the two teens before looking at Joyce.
"Duty calls." he says to her.
"Go, I've got this." Joyce tells him.
Hopper put his hat back on and began to leave the store when he nearly slipped on some items on the floor.
"Whoa, clean up on isle 5" he said when he past her.
Joyce watched the chief walk past the two teens who moved out his way before she rounded the counter to check out the stuff on the floor. There was magnets on the floor. She bent down to pick them up and put them back on the metal plate when they kept falling. She picked them up once more and decided just to take them over to the counter when she noticed that the two teens had moved to stand there.
"Hi, what can I get for you two?" she asked them as she rounded to the register.
Jack and Ruby, who had decided to wait near the register for the Winchesters, jumped when they heard someone speak to them. They turned their heads to look at a woman with shoulder length brown hair, brown eyes and was wearing red and white striped shirt, blue jeans and a dark blue, short sleeved shirt over the striped shirt. Then the twins realized that she had spoken to them. They looked at each other before Dean's voice rang out.
"Hey, why don't you guys pick out some candy for yourselves." he said, having walked up behind them.
The Nephilims turned to look at the older Winchester, who had his eyebrow cocked as he gave them a look, then walked away to look for candy.
"Sorry about them, they aren't used to seeing new faces." The older Winchester brother told Joyce as he placed some items on the counter.
"Don't get out much?" Joyce asked him.
Dean paused for a moment, looking at the twins who were showing the other some candy they thought was interesting before putting it back. He then turned back to the cashier who was wearing a name tag with her name on it.
"You could said that…Joyce." he said, after reading her name tag.
Joyce was going to say something else when a taller guy walked over.
"Really Dean? Beer and pie? Why didn't you get some actual food." Sam scolded his brother.
"What? Like the rabbit food you eat Sammy? No way, I can't survive off that stuff. I'm a warrior." Dean argued.
Sam only sighed and placed the items he gathered on the counted besides Dean's stuff. It was then when the older Winchester turned his attention to where he had seen the twins last and called out for them, figuring they had crouched down to look at candy on the bottom shelves.
"C'mon kiddos, Sammy and I are ready to head out." he called.
Joyce was surprised to see the heads of the teenagers immediately pop up before they quickly made their way over to the register with only three candy bars in hand for both of them. Jack and Ruby were quick to place their chosen candy down on the counter before moving out of the way and took a step back from each other. Joyce looked at them curiously before beginning to ring up everything on the counter.
"Okay, that will be $32.50" she says.
Dean reached into his back pocket and pulled out his wallet before pulling out the cash needed. He handed the money to Joyce before collecting the bags, Sam helping out too.
"You guys have a nice day." Joyce tells them.
Dean just walked away but, Sam smiled politely before following after his brother. The twins stood there for a second, waving briefly before being quick to follow the brothers out the door. Joyce watched the four of them leave before turning her attention back to the magnets on the counter. The small group of four piled back into the Impala before Dean backed out of the parking lot and headed down the road again.
Cruising down the road, it wasn't long until the familiar building of the Starcourt Mall came into view. Ruby, who had been staring out the window once again, perked her head up when she saw the building.
"Hey Dean, can I go to the mall?" she asked, hoping the older Winchester would grant her a bit of freedom.
Dean looked at her through his rearview mirror about to say something when Sam answered instead.
"Sure Ruby. Just remember the rules and don’t be out too late." he said.
Dean glared at his brother before sighing and nodding his head. He turned into the parking lot and pulled up to the front entrance. Ruby scooted past her brother, climbing over him a bit, to get out of the Impala on the safe side, not into the road. The female Nephilim turned back to look at the younger Winchester who nodded his head at her and gave her a kind smile. Ruby gave him a small smile back before turning back to the mall and made her way inside.
Just like yesterday, there were crowds of people in the mall. The brunette weaved her way through the crowds before deciding to peak into a clothing store that was called The Gap. She looked at all the different clothes when she saw two young girls staring up at a mannequin.
"…until you find something that feels like you. Not Hopper, not Mike. You" she overheard the redhead tell her friend.
It was then that the Kline girl looked down at her own outfit. She realized then that she had adopted the Winchester brothers style, flannel and multiple layers.
"Hey, want to join us?" Ruby heard a voice ask her.
She looked up to see the redhead from before with a brunette girl by her side. She tilted her head to the side in curiosity, looking at the girls.
"Oh, I'm Max and this is El." the redhead introduced herself and her friend.
"Oh, I'm Ruby." the female Nephilim introduced herself.
"Nice to meet you Ruby. So, would you like to join El and I in shopping?" Max asked the slightly older girl.
"Oh, uh…sure" Ruby said after some hesitation.
Max smiled brightly before looking at El who gave a small smile back. The redhead grabbed the older girl's hand and began to lead her around the Gap. El and Ruby tried on different clothes. El had a better time picking out something that was more her style while Ruby had a more difficult time, used to wearing the Winchesters style.
"Well, how about this Ruby?" Max asked before holding up a plain t-shirt and a pair of jeans as well as a jean jacket.
Ruby took the clothes from the redhead and went into a changing room to try on the clothes. She pulled the curtain back of the changing room. She stepped out and decided to take a look in the mirror.
"It's not bad, although I think I'll stick with the flannel and multiple layers." she says before disappearing back into the changing room to put her regular clothes back on.
Once she was changed, the three of them left the Gap and headed for Scoops Ahoy.
"Hey Steve." Max greeted as they entered the parlor.
Steve looked up, "Oh hey girls." he greeted back before his attention was drawn to Ruby.
"Oh, hey Ruby. Nice to see you again." he said, cheeks just a little pink.
"Hi Steve." the girl said.
"Right, so what can I get you girls today?" he asked.
El stared at him in confusion, never having ice cream before and turned to Max, figuring the redhead would know what flavor would be best for her to try.
"One strawberry, one vanilla with sprinkles and extra whipped cream and…" Max trailed off before looking up at Ruby.
"Nougat." the older looking girl answered.
"And one nougat." Max finished before paying up front.
Steve nodded his head before going to scoop the three different flavors of ice cream on separate cones. He had just finished scooping the last ice cream flavor and placed it on the cone when a small window slid open.
"Hey Steve, we've got our first sentence." a girl with short brown hair called out to the boy.
"Oh, seriously?" he asked, moving to go talk to her.
"The veek is long." she told him, imitating a Russian accent.
"Well, that’s thrilling " he said sarcastically.
"I know but, progress." the girl told him before closing the small door once more.
"Alright, well here ya go. You had a strawberry, vanilla with sprinkles plus extra whipped cream and nougat." he said, turning back to the girls at the counter, handing them each the cone of ice cream they asked for.
Steve then looked at El in curiosity, "Wait a second, are you even allowed to be here?" he asked her.
Ruby looked down at the girls who looked at each other before giggling. They smiled and turned to leave while the female Nephilim stared after them in confusion.
"Uh…okay" Steve said before turning to Ruby who had stayed behind.
He was about to say something to her when the familiar voices of the girls called out to her.
"Hey Ruby, you coming?!" Max asked, having turned her head over her shoulder to see that the girl hadn't been following them.
The brunette nodded her head before beginning to head out of the ice cream parlor but, not without turning back to give Steve a wave then caught up to the younger girls. The three of them walked out of the mall when Max turned to El.
"Wanna trade?" she asked her new friend, referring to the ice cream in their hands.
El nodded her head and traded cones with the redhead. She tried the strawberry flavor and smiled.
"Oh, you have got to be shitting me." Max said when she heard the familiar voices of her boyfriend and El's boyfriend.
Ruby turned to see what had caused the fiery headed girl's statement and watched as three boys pulled their bikes out of a bike stand, one she had seen in a movie before.
"Isn't this a nice surprise" Max said sarcastically as she and El made their way over to the boys.
Ruby moved a bit closer but not much, deciding to remain in the background while she tried to figure out what was going on between her new friends and the boys.
Mike stared at his girlfriend in surprise which caused him to drop his bike before pointing a finger at her.
"What are you doing here?" he asks.
"Shopping." El answered.
"This is her new style, what do you think?" Max asked him.
"What's wrong with you? You know she's not allowed to be here." Mike tells Max.
"What is she, your little pet?" the girl rebutted.
"Yeah, am I your pet?" El repeated.
"What?! No!" Mike answers.
"Then why do you treat me like garbage?" El asked.
"What?" the boy asked in confusion.
"You said Nana was sick" she reminds him.
"She is." he says.
"She is, she is sick." he repeats, gesturing for his friend to help him out.
"Yeah she's sick, she's super sick. That's why we're here actually." Lucas lies.
"Yeah, yeah. We're shopping. Not for us but, for her, for Nana" Mike continued the lie.
"For Nana" Lucas repeats, causing Max to look at him suspiciously.
"Also, we're here to get a gift for you." Mike added, looking at El.
"But, I couldn't find anything that suited you and I only have three dollars and fifty cents, so its hard." Mike admits.
"Super hard." Lucas clarifies. "It's expensive" he added.
"You lie." El spoke up.
Mike looked up at her, guiltily.
"Why do you lie?" she asks him.
Mike opened his mouth but, couldn't think of anything to say. El just stared at him before turning around when a bus pulled up. That's when the boys noticed an older girl standing in the back, looking at them but, before they could say anything, El got in Mike's face.
"I dump your ass." she tells him.
Mike looked at her in confusion and Max looked at her in surprise. The two girls turned around and walked away. Ruby looked back at the boys before going to follow the girls onto the bus when she heard a familiar engine sound pull up, causing her to look in its direction. It was Dean.
"Ruby, you coming with us?" El decided to ask the girl.
The girl looked at her new friends before looking at the older Winchester who was waiting for her in his Impala.
"I can't, I have to go home now." she tells them.
"Okay, will we see you again?" Max asks.
Ruby looked at the two girls, "Maybe." she decided to answer.
The girls nodded their heads before boarding the bus and the female Nephilim made her way over to the 1967 Chevy Impala. She climbed into the passenger seat as it was only Dean in the car. She buckled up as soon as he pulled away from the curb. The ride back to wherever they would be staying was quiet as the radio was turned down.
"How was the mall?" Dean decided to ask.
The Kline girl looked at the older Winchester in surprise before saying something.
"It was good. I had…nougat ice cream and these two girls that I met in the Gap wanted me to hang out with them." she tells him.
Dean glanced at the girl out of the corner of his eyes before focusing back on the road.
"That's….good." he said after some thought.
Ruby hummed in agreement before staring out the window.
*Muffled Whimpers*
The Nephilim perked up and in a blink of an eye, disappeared out of the Impala. Dean swore and stopped the car before turning towards the passenger seat.
"Shit" he cursed.
Elsewhere: Rimborn: Steel Works
Ruby appeared in what seemed to be a run-down building before she spotted a familiar figure leaning over something. It was the lifeguard from the pool.
"Don't be afraid, it'll all be over soon. Just stay very still." she heard him say to the person he was leaning over before realizing that his voice sounded different.
When he had gotten up and moved aside, the Kline girl moved to hide behind a post and noticed that there was a girl, lying on the floor and bounded. She then made out a distinct growling sound and looked up, seeing a large shadow creature moving in the darkness which made the girl on the floor scream. Ruby was tempted to move out of her spot but, knew that she couldn't, that Dean wouldn't be too happy with her if she used her powers.
She had to watch helplessly as a tentacle seemed to shoot out from the darkness and attach itself to the girl's face who was on the floor. It seemed to be pumping something into the bounded girl and it was then that the female Nephilim decided to flee and return to the Impala. Billy looked at the last minute when he heard a rushing sound of wind. He made his way over to where he heard it before realizing that whoever had been there was now long gone.
Back in the Impala
Ruby reappeared in the passenger seat of the car which startled Dean.
"Son of a bitch!" he cursed loudly as the sudden appearance.
The oldest Winchester was about to scold the girl when he noticed the look on the girl's face. She wore a frightened expression and her breathing was labored.
"Hey kid, what's wrong?" he asks.
"I-I couldn't…..I couldn't save her." the brunette whispered.
Dean stared at the girl before throwing the Impala into drive and began to speed back down the road. Ruby couldn't get the screams out of her head and closed her eyes, trying to push them out. Suddenly, the car came to an abrupt stop which caused the girl's eyes to snap open in surprise. She noticed that Dean had parked outside a small house and realized that this is where she and the others would be staying while they were in this road. She also realized that the older Winchester brother had climbed out of the car and was waiting on her. So, she unbuckled herself and climbed out of the car. She followed the almond brown haired brother inside and was greeted by the other Winchester, Castiel and her own brother in the living room.
Jack was the first to notice how shaken up his twin sister was, which made him wonder what happened to her.
"Rubs? What happened?" he decided to voice his wonder.
Ruby blinked at her brother before looking at the others.
"Tell us what you saw Ruby." Dean said before taking a seat.
The girl nodded her head before beginning to play with the end of her sleeve as she began to describe what she had seen.
"Well, Dean and I were driving back here when I heard muffled whimpers…."

How the nephilims look in your AU? What if some of them survived the flood but they and their descendants live hidden, in fear to be found and killed by the archangels?
They looked like humans but usually with a few extra bits and pieces
They would grow a little quicker than normal humans, and those that got to grow up were quite taller than the average person.
These two are Hiyya and Hewwa, Shemhazai’s kids.
None of the nephilims survived the floods, but if they did, there would be trouble. For both them and Heaven. The thing with nephilims is that they’re not supposed to exist, they will be unpredictable, totally beyond Heaven, and very, VERY powerful. They wouldn’t have souls or halos, so they would be more or less out of Heaven’s radar and sight, but it would still be hard to evade danger. The safest place to be would be Limbo, unless they can somehow make a place for themselves in Hell (which would be difficult).
But yeah, nah, none survived, floods made sure of that.
