Pregnant Omega Headcanons

Here's some things I think a pregnant omega would do.

1. Nesting habits.

This means in the bed and out. They'll have an urge to start collecting items around the second month or so, wanting to prep for their upcoming pup/pups. This means whenever they're at a home goods store they'll be likely to pick up a pillow they happened to like the texture of. This goes for things like blankets, sheets, furniture, rugs. Even things like candles and lights. They'll start a large nest for themselves and the pup/pups. This will contain mostly soft blankets and pillows but also some heavily scented clothing items from their mate if they have one. They don't like to stop. They feel like there's always something they can be doing, like cleaning or rearranging. Alphas will freat over their little omegan husbands/wives, often trying to get them to lay down and relax and let them handle the cleaning, but they always prefer to do it themselves so it's just right.

2. Diets.

Their diets completely differ when pregnant. Some omegas will suddenly crave sweet or salty things, maybe even both. And they can get pretty odd, meaning burgers with peanut butter or ice cream with a BLT sandwich. It gets wild. And of course they start eating more than before considering their pup/pups taking most of their energy to care for. They'll get these cravings at the most random times, and when they wake up late at night with a hunger for cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets, both omega and alpha/beta mate are extremely thankful for 24/7 drive throughs.

3. Emotions.

This is where things get a bit exhausting. Almost immediately after they're pregnant their hormones start to change up and confuse everyone. At one moment they can be to energetic to sit down and as happy as can be, but the next second they'll be to tired to sit up and ready to sob over a dropped piece of food. This wreaks havoc on a poor couple expecting a baby. The poor mate never knows when their mate is about to explode, but most learn to be extremely patient because the second they blink the omega goes from angry and pissed to sorry and guilty. Communication and patience is key. There might be some major boundaries set for a pack/couple. And in all honesty it's best if the mates stick to and respect said boundaries.

4. Clothing

They start to switch to comfort vs. style. Yoga pants galore, big oversized sweaters, bras are suddenly forgotten. It's all about being comfortable and functional. This means they often enjoy 'stealing' their larger mates clothes and not changing for a couple of days. Tight annoying clothes will make them twitchy and whiny, and does not help improve the mood swings.

5. Cute habits.

The list goes on and on, once at a certain stage they start to waddle, and it's possible the most precious thing their mate has ever seen. They balance plates and bowls on their tummys as they eat and lounge in the nest or on the couch. They love to shop for the baby, whether online or window shopping they are constantly getting new onesies and teddies. They like to rearrange everything in the house, fixing things up. Just in general preparing for the baby.
