Facial Expressions: what your face is doing while communicating with others (smiling, frowning, eyebrow movements, etc.)

Vocals: what your voice is doing while communicating with others (accents, changing in vocals (higher/lower voice), dialects, etc.)

Body Language: what you’re doing with your body while you’re communicating with others (stance, hand movements, full body movements, etc.)

Written Communication: what the words you type are doing while you’re communicating with others (word choice, punctuation, separation of messages, etc.)

And how much conscious effort and choice is required for this method of communication to be so varied/animated

This is my planner spread for this past week! I’m experimenting with this new layout. (I hope the image quality turns out okay)

This is my first original post on this new studyblr (aside from the neuron model; I just originally posted that on my personal account) so I’ll do a quick intro!

My name is Claire and I’m in my sophomore year of college. I’m a neuroscience major and possible Spanish minor. I’ll soon be starting an Integrated Pathway for Education, as I plan to be a teacher :)

I enjoy singing and knitting, among other things. I spent a couple weeks this summer working on my aunt’s small permaculture farm and I hope to make growing food and building a relationship with the land a bigger part of my life.

Starting a studyblr is new to me, so I’m just looking to have fun with this :)

I am now a week into my second year of college. This year, our semesters are being split into two terms each so that we can 2 courses in the first 7 weeks and 2 in the second 7 weeks. I’m living on campus (trying to distance as much as possible) and am essentially taking two asynchronous online classes for this first 7-week term: Research Methods & Statistics and Brain & Behavior.

My first week of classes was manageable and a bit of a review for me from my high school IB Psych courses, but I have been learning some important foundational things. I expect things to get a bit more intense next week. I’m getting into the swing of things, though! I’ve mainly been reading and listening to recorded lectures.

2.2.2020 | Going to try making Sunday mornings working in a coffee shop a thing I do. This morning I’m working on some grant ideas for my qualifying exams (which are coming up scary fast), which I’ll hopefully be able to turn around and submit to the NIH.

Trying to find the motivation to finish up my pharmacology study guide and polish up my defense presentation. Being so close to the end of the semester and my masters degree in general has made my motivation fly out the window, I really just want it all over.

what inspired you to study neuroscience? i know there's not one cohesive answer to this question, but i'd really like to know your though process because i'm considering neuroscience
