I wonder if Binghe wants to call him his birth name now. Maybe sometimes? Could Luo Binghe influence OG Shen Yuan's world too, if he wanted?

svsss extras thoughts

I haven't read it properly yet only get bits and pieces form fandom, I think we can all like and love the fact we have extras and most of us don't care we're being fed- but I do understand and apply nuance that the extras do kinda disregard earlier themes in the story.

So idk if its mistranslation or if like other shows maybe extras don't quite enhance but feel is if they take away from the story.

Even so I'm fine with the extras but I do see where people are coming from even more funny seeing them smother their inner shen yuan and not have a passionate rant about hating the extras its kinda funny. Even so so muuucchhh content, I won't write anything yet but YES I will be trying to include Bingzu in anything story I write from now on. I think Bingzu system is my favourite part, I love how most of it the fandom wrote in fanfic, and with elements of multiple systems maybe Luo Bingge will find his own Shen Yuan.

And I don't mind the extras coz I've already had this moment with book four of scum villain, personally the only extras I didn't see the point of was Su Xiyan and Tianlang-Juns meet-cute and both Shen Jiu and Qi-gi in the LingXi caves or the fact that it established Shen Jiu tried to save Liu Qingge from a ghost but was accused of trying to kill him and trans!qinghua tried to fix it.

Like happy those extras exist but shen jius and Su Xiyans stories ended and those extras I felt as if they didn't add to them, so these NEW extras I'm already used to liking some not a fan of others so its all good.

I don’t know that much about the new svss extras drop, but honestly, I’m a little bit afraid. Not because of any of the new info necessarily, but because the svss fandom has been super chill with no real major drama or shipping wars, but I feel like this new info has the potential to cause some significant rifts in how we all see the characters and canon and I think we should start preparing ourselves for this and all try to remember that whether you see the new info as canon or adaptation adjacent or whatever, all of these view points have validity and we should try not to be immediately dismissive of interpretations we disagree with. I think the rule of “don’t like don’t read” would work quite well for this. I may just be worried over nothing.

Edit: I saw someone refer to treating this new extra as deuterocanonical and I think that’s an excellent idea
