I’m a bit late to the party—

but it’s my first time watching Steven Universe and I’m getting very obsessed :)

This may have been one most challenging pieces I’ve started, but it turned out to be one of my favorites!

I present my own take on the undercity from @amethystfairy1’s through the sky blue cracks, put together with some quotes I could find describing it as well as my imagination! I’m not entirely sure if I succeeded at making the pillars look like rock and metal together but I tried haha

(though my favorite part is the redstone running through the entire cavern, ‘pulsing like the city’s heartbeat’)

the obsession never ends, I literally already have more art planned for these series that will be coming soon—it’s a good time for spring break to have just started!

A lot of inspo came from Carlsbad caverns, with some from Derinkuyu. However, I went much more modern with it and had some clusters of buildings seperated from the walls, as well as led light to almost have a more Zaun like vibe? And also to have more winding streets like described in the fics! Believe it or not I’d never seen a picture of Khazad Dum until a friend sent it to me when I showed them the finished work.
