2022 was a very uneven year for me. There seemed to be a lot more lows than there were highs, but I got through it because I’m a perpetual optimist. I’m also a realist. When I left my job at the museum over a year ago, I assumed that after a recuperative break I would return to the field. As things stand now, however, I don't see myself working as a curator again anytime soon. If I do get back into museums, I'll be back here posting about fun behind-the-scenes stuff like I used to. In the meantime, I'm shifting the focus of this blog.

New Year, New Focus

There are multiple holidays every single day of the year so in 2023 I'm going to Celebrate Every Day! I want to always have something fun and silly and joyful to look forward to no matter how the world is churning around me. Feel free to join me in this grand yet simple experiment and share what you're celebrating. Here’s wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and whatever-you-want-it-to-be 2023!

Ahh! This makes me so sad! I'm about to cry now! But do you think there might be a possibility that Yana may expand her manga? This is such a beautiful story that she couldn't end it

Aww 😢 It’s hard to say goodbye to something you love. However….

There are chances she could. If you think about all the arcs up to his 14th birthday as one “super arc” with Mother3 as a framework, then – depending on the outcome of that – she could continue with a whole new “super arc” with a new framework. That new framework could be absolutely anything.

The new focus could be the adventures of Sebastian and a demon earl (hehe), Sebastian making a contract with a new summoner (after he eats that big meal he’s been preparing… and then maybe takes a nap), or even some spin-off about reapers. Who knows?

I hate to say it, though, but after 11 or 12 years (by the time this two week timeline ends) of writing Black Butler, she might be ready to move on to a new project.

Perhaps you might love a new project of hers, too! 😊

I love color in my works and will always do comms and such with it, but I think I'm going to start focusing more on my manga style art, since my comic is so important to me and I probably need to work on and get more of that art out there. It'll probably help with motivation too
