Damian as a young Doctor due to his brains, and immediately being taken under the wing of many of the senior/older doctors or nurses at Gotham Hospital, like subconsciously.
Everyone knows Damian is more than capable and skilled and maybe even better than the ones who have worked there for years (Robin first Aid training and league training and all) but they all still give him tips and tricks. Everyone in the hospital loves him, even if he seems super serious, they all see how Damian comforts kids who have been admitted to the hospital. Helps calm loved ones of patients down from panic and shows how dedicated he is to actually helping the patients he has.
Damian’s first friend that’s a coworker of his is a Nurse named Jane who works in the NICU. She’s a mom of two teenagers, and is drawn to Damian because he reminds her of her son, who she couldn’t imagine working at the hospital like Damian is now, at his age.
Damian ends up spending more time in the NICU because of this, and it drives him to be gentler. Because he needs to be gentle with the too small infants, and stressed and grieving mothers. And he helps because he knows he can comfort (His is experience is with abused and stray animals he took in, that taught him how), and that’s what everyone in Gotham hospital needs.
When Nurse Jane tells him how impressed she is with his humility and gentleness, Damian is shocked and confused. He didn’t realize he had changed until it was pointed out to him, he wasn’t the hurting, stand-off-ish Robin anymore. He was Doctor. Wayne.
Not a mantel, or a violent vigilante sending criminals into critical care, not hiding in the shadows of the city and his Father. But Dr. Wayne, the helper, the healer, his own person.
