New Moves: Rick

Some concepts for new moves Rick Shades could learn and develop, either as inspiration for a fanfic or as ideas of what's to come in future books.

Power Transference: Sharing is caring! Friendship doesn't just have to be about taking; Rick can share his magic or his friends' powers with another one of his friends. Depending on Rick's Proficiency, he might need to lose the power temporarily in order to give it to someone else.

Stamina Transference: Rick can share his Stamina with one of his friends, losing Stamina in order to heal them. Similarly, one of his friends can choose to share Stamina with him, or even another one of his friends depending on his Proficiency.

Soul Contact: Rick keeps his friends in his soul; kind of like how one keeps their friends in their contacts. By establishing contact with his friends' souls, he can telepathically communicate with them as if he was calling them! As his Proficiency increases, he can even learn to see and hear through his friends' senses, or allow them to see and hear through his.

Soul Jump: Rick searches for one his friends' souls and teleports to their location. Great as a mobility option, even greater for protecting your friends in a pinch! As his Proficiency grows, he can learn to give his friends the ability to teleport to him and/or their other shared friends, or even switch places with each other!

Power Fusion: Rick can learn to combine two of his friends' powers, fusing them into a different one altogether. Maybe he can create Soup imbued with the power of Trixie's potions, or Bear Claws that put people to sleep; the possibilities are endless!

Soul Fusion (Orbit-Class Move): This is half crack, but - Rick can fuse his soul with one of his friends', merging them both into one being for a short time. Think Gem Fusions from Steven Universe.

It’s been a while

I’ve been terrible with maintaining this blog, especially since I was so admit about my road out of debt and towards a more sustainable future with my family.  I must admit that my absence has been for a good reason, I decided to take the jump and go to a new company in New York City that not only gave me a promotion but also a 33% raise. This is a huge deal for me, along with the move a chance to grow in a profession that I enjoy as well as an opportunity for me to be a manager was something that I couldn’t pass up. 

The change from the Mid-West to New York happened so fast, my head is still spinning. With such a giant move the transition to move my partner and my son to the city has been expensive (moving gear 500 miles will do that to anyone’s budget) so I have taken a step back and have only been making base payments on my student loans, which thankful are not as much as they were last year. However, it still puts me a few months behind schedule which is not where I want to be considering I have a plan to be debt free by 2021. But with that in mind I am going to try and find out how much of this city I can see and do for free and bring it to you along with my ever present need to be debt free and sustainable.
