✨New book alert ✨
Scooby-Doo Return to Zombie Island *SPOILERS AHEAD*
So there’s a new movie that came out yesterday that is the sequel to the infamous “Scooby-Doo On Zombie Island” movie. I heard about it a month or so ago and I’ve been super excited ever since. Well it finally came out yesterday and I was able to watch it. It definitely has the nostalgia to the original series. There’s a montage of the gang catching villains dressed as classic monsters they’ve gone up against. Then, due to stress of being used all the time as bait, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo make Fred, Daphne, and Velma promise to not do anymore mysteries so they can take a break. Also a sheriff told them to lay off the mysteries. And apparently Fred SOLD THE MYSTERY MACHINE!?!? Like, WTF. Anywho, Shaggy wins an all expense paid vacation to an island. So they all go and of course mysterious things start happening. But, the gang keeps their promise to not try to solve it, even after their ferryman says there are zombies. They end up at “Moonstar Island Resort” and they reminisce about the last island that had zombies on it. They CHANGED THE LORE OF THE FIRST MOVIE. They said that Simone and Lena weren’t the only cat people from their settlement, but we know from the OG film that that’s wrong. Their friends were all eaten by gators. And that Daphne did the TV show for “a school project”. And apparently Velma has a blog where she posts about their mysteries and there’s a section over ones she calls “unsolved”. And she doesn’t believe that the cat people were real or that what they went through was real. Anyways, they go through all the zombie stuff and Shaggy and Scooby-Doo finally let them break the promise. Turns out the zombies were fake and the owner of the hotel is filming a movie based off of the blog post Velma made. You can actually tell pretty quickly that he’s making a movie since there are cameras in every corner. They also mention that Moonscar Islands house, the one Simone and Lena live in, was a hotel and they signed in when they go there. But it never mentioned that in the OG film. So then there are also more cat people who turn out to just be people looking for the treasure buried on the island. But there is one cat person left which is unexplained. In short, it was a decent movie, but they did change up some parts of the original movie to fit with the new one. It will be a good movie for the younger generations who are in to the new animation style and who want something different. They definitely did good on the nostalgia, but they changed a bit too much for me to fully enjoy. All in all, okay movie with good nostalgia
It has been X00 years since the true and final death of Sheev Palpatine. The galaxy has long schismed into many rival factions, the most powerful of which are the United Galactic Republic and the Federation Of Free Worlds. All other polities are allied with one or the other or are consigned to neutrality, likely used as proxies for their cold war.
In this divided age, the many Orders Of Jedi Knights strive to protect their people and maintain the peace. Finn's Order is the largest of these, followed by all those that had been taught by Rey Skywalker. Many more are those that rose independently and rediscovered the Jedi Arts on their own. They all watch each other for any signs of them turning to the Dark Side and skirmish over differences in dogma.
While in the shadows, remnants of the Eternal cults seek to reincarnate the line of the Sith, raising up prospective masters and letting them loose upon the galaxy. Rather than painstakingly seeking one perfect candidate, they corrupt dozens of souls scattered across space. Worlds will burn as would-be Dark Lords duel their rivals across the stars until only two remain, a master and an apprentice.
In the darkness between stars, the Order Of The Voidborn aim to bring about an end to planetary life by igniting the galactic cold war. They hope to goad the major powers to use their vast caches of Planet Destroying Weapons. They believe then that their Void Emperor will lead a superior people, bred to live aboard starships, to inherent what is left and rule empty space forevermore. ~ The loose plot I thought up of: Two pairs of Jedi from rival Orders, one allied with the Republic, the other with the Federation, discover a plot by the Voidborn to hijack a Death Star and blow up a planet under a false flag mission, triggering the planet busting war they desire. Both teams of Jedi, after some rather violent disagreements, have to engage in teeth-clenched team work in order to save the galaxy. (Actually, just the planet. As they come to figure out, the false flag part of their plot is doomed to fail and no one will fall for it- but they're still going to blow up a planet full of billions of innocent lives.)
One of the would-be Sith Lords has joined the Voidborn, working for them and has convinced the Void Emperor to target this planet, because surely that planet being destroyed will kick off the planet busting war they desire. The Sith's true goal is a rival that lives on this planet- wiping them out in the most assured way possible. The hopeful goal is to manipulate the Voidborn from within to continue doing the dirty work of wiping out all other rival Sith, one planet at a time. The Void Emperor is well aware of this and is playing his own game.
The Jedi quartet pick-up one or more tagalong characters with their own plots and viewpoints on the conflict in the galaxy. One of them is secretly a would-be Sith Lord, riding along to find that rival working with the Voidborn and eliminate them.
WTF moments
So I decided to rewatch The Terminator and Terminator 2 since a direct sequel to the 2nd one is coming out soon. And I gotta say, the way they did the second film was great! They set up the Terminator as such a villain in the first one. Arnold played him amazingly. If you’ve only seen the first one when watching the second one, you’ll be expecting Arnold to be the big bad again. That he’ll be going after John Connor with guns blazing. The moment he says “Get down” has to be one of the biggest twists to a sequel ever. All this time we think he’s going to be trying to murder John, but he’s the protector! If you hadn’t known from the trailers, you’d be extremely shocked. I honestly think it’s the best way to reveal him as the good guy. They set it up from the moment he walked naked in to that biker bar. They made him look like a bad guy. From his attitude down to his clothes and vehicle choice, he was made to look bad/evil. Two simple words turned everything around and showed us that he was there for the other Terminator and the other one was there to kill John. Brilliant!
Also! I noticed that Terminators seem to LOVE using 18 wheelers to go after Sarah and John. Arnold used one in T1 and then the liquid Terminator used 2 in the second one. Here’s hoping that continues with the new 3rd film!!
Heey I know I don’t have that many followers but I was thinking about posting a new sequel with Namjoon or Tae, probably namjoon cuz I’m trash so YUP, keep up, luv yall -Lou
