In 2017, one of my goals was finishing the year with a bang and I did (we did)! We had a great yoga retreat at the end of the year that was memorable for everyone. Last year, I focused so much on students that I have neglected my own practice. This year, I plan to teach less and practice more. Yoga practice not limited to just physical asana but all aspects in Yoga. Last year in Jennifer’s new year class (Breathe Los Gatos). I had the word for 2017 - “Transform”. Yoga teaching is part of my yogic path. Yoga is a big part of my life and really changed me mentally and physically - transformation. The transformation will not be stopped until the day I die. This year, I was too busy and late to register Jennifer’s new year class. I feel strongly with the word for 2018 - “Practice”. Now that most of my students have grown so strong, it's time to get back to my own practice. Between 2015 and 2017, I fell in love with “Ashtanga Mysore classes”. I failed to make major adjustments to my lifestyle to go to these “classes” and will not planning to go back anytime soon. Please notice that I said “classes”, not “practice”. Concepts of Ashtanga Yoga classes are great but not everyone will like it. I adopted best features in my classes but modified so more people in general can receive the benefits of practicing yoga without such rigid system. All type of Yoga Practices can be spiritual if you are dedicated to it. I will continue to do so in 2018. Great community was built and friends were made. I hope all of us can continue to support and enlighten each others.
