Think selling this product in the UK 

Primary research asks people, what is the first thing they have before coming to uni or what is the first thing they drink in the morning, like coffee, energy drink, 

If you are selling to young adults, think the facilities to money

Finish researching the ritual of this Chinese tea 

You could look into elements or symbols they have in this culture

Start with the pros: what, when, who, where, why and how 

Zoom on the age, for example, 25 to 35.

Have a look in the supermarkets for the packaging 

Associate product/ mail order - this reflects on the ground 

Remove the word medical because that is another area/ keep it on the healthy line 

Include how you gonna hit this LO 1,2,3

LO1: look into Semitism, signs/ symbols/ marketing 

The ethics issue: how are you talking about the tea?

Background (field of study)

Tea has played an essential role in Chinese culture and history for centuries and is often considered a symbol of hospitality and respect. It is known as a multidisciplinary field that includes various aspects such as culture, botany, agriculture, chemistry, and medicine. The study of Chinese tea involves understanding the different types of tea, their cultivation, processing, and preparation methods, as well as the cultural and social importance of tea in Chinese society.

Creative challenge

I intend to develop a new brand for traditional Chinese teas since tea is generally consumed worldwide. Therefore, since Asian culture is spreading more and more among other countries and especially among young adults to adults. I think it's a way to encourage the audience to try these products because it has a positive impact on their lives as we know tea has many benefits as it is a natural product since it is not super-processed with chemical substances.

Considerations (context)

When creating this type of package where they go first for tea consumers and secondly for those who consume from time to time to maybe nothing at all. Nowadays there are many people who do not know the benefits can be antioxidants and other nutrients that can help promote health and well-being in general. But if you want to go into detail, it may even have the ability to aid digestion, boost the immune system, and reduce the risk of certain diseases. This can be a good way to expand these products and make them more personalized to people's needs.

Target audience 

My target audience is tea drinkers, people who have a passion for learning about tea culture or the country, travellers, people who consume traditional or healthy medicines and beverage industry professionals. I will focus on the age of 25 to 45+

Deliveries 

For my deliveries, I am thinking of making a set of 3 to 4 packaging with the brand that I will create from the teas of my choice.

Things that I am interested in exploring in this project 

I have an interest in exploring and learning things from other countries such as their language or cultures

I would still like to explore promoting a brand about cosmetics or personal products

Something that I am intrigued about is exploring something that contains fashion, such as the comparison of fashion in other countries.

I would like to create a brand identity or rebrand for the packaging on some food products, cosmetics or personal products, store or app

Starting points that I am interested in are

For a change, aiming to raise awareness and actively make change happen

Engaging with the idea that as visual communicators we have a social responsibility towards the large community we operate in 

In this context, context, society could mean the whole of humanity, a particular country or a local community

In which the message is dependent on the involvement/ contribution of an audience

In this context the audience or consumer actively participates in shaping the creation and circulation of context: the nature of the creative outcomes is not society controlled by the design

CVL: Initial ideas

Things that I enjoy the most doing 

I liked the typographic was one of the projects that I liked the most about how to create my own font

Branding is something that I think I enjoy doing, for example when we had the packaging brief where I was exploring patterns from different countries or where I have to rebrand

Another field that I am interested in is creating an app or website where logos also enter, it is something that I do not feel that I have not explored much and I would like to continue exploring.

Things I don't enjoy doing are 

For example, the advertising campaigns are something that I discovered doing with the D&AD project that I didn't enjoy doing, I don't know if it was because of the theme or in general it was something challenging for me.

Another thing that I'm not sure I enjoyed was making videos because I found it a bit difficult to create the correct timing for each text and I didn't have much knowledge in this field either.

The illustrations of a book are something that I had fun doing, but I'm not interested in publishing books.

New Brief Reaction: Drink Driving

I received my second brief as part of the module Subject in Context. There was a choice between two briefs, Suicide Prevention or Drink Driving. I decided to do Drink Driving since I was more interested in the topic, I drive and I felt with personal issues relating to suicide I didn’t want to go down that path.

This drink driving brief is a live brief by Think! which I think would be great to get noticed and picked by them to use my work for the campaign. I like working on campaigns I think it’s fun having a cause to research thoroughly that needs to be talked about and the development of a campaign is exciting to watch.

The brief has asked us to raise awareness of drink driving and prevent the target audience, men aged 17 to 24 to not drive while under the influence. We are asked to remind them of the consequences of drink driving is, the legal limit and how easy it is to go over the limit. Since most young people spend a lot of time online the campaign’s ‘Don’t Drink and Drive’ message across different digital platforms such as social media, email and gaming consoles.

We are also asked to consider how we are going to communicate our outcome for example being emotionally provocative, making it funny and use of celebrities.

I am excited to begin this project this because it is a well known topic explored within graphic design and I believe it will be a challenging project and interesting to see how I could create an engaging outcome whilst keeping it original.

Start of L5: Subject In Context

We have started our first project of the second year of Visual Communications Graphic Communications. This first brief is Designing Interactive Retail Experiences. This asks us to create ideas a space, an area or a window display with an interactive retail experience, for example where the customer goes up and touches the interactive area. We have been told to pick a real retail space, based in Birmingham and to pick a product from that retail space. From this we need to identify the target audience of this brand and product to produce the ideas. With the ideas we are encouraged to photograph the retail spaces and explore different mediums of production for example paint, printmaking or new digital programmes such as Google Sketch Up.

I have decided that I will do the retail brand Doctor Martens, and the product I have picked is the original Dr Martens boots, the eight eye 1460 boots. I decided to pick Dr Martens because I have a collection of products from Dr Martens such as the original 1460 boots, 2976 chelsea boots and a backpack. I have first-hand experience of what it’s like to own the products, the quality of them and any issues with the products such as the boots take some time to wear them in.
