Myles Garrett is hoping to break 20 sacks in 2016; Wants to be the first pick

Texas A&M pass rusher Myles Garrett was named the most freakish player in 2016 by NFL.com

Myles Garrett is one of the best pass rushers in the 2017 NFL Draft, and the Aggies pass rusher is ready to prove it to the world this year. Garrett had high expecatations last season but came pretty close to hitting his goal.

Last season he wanted to hit 15 sacks and 20 TFL, he finished with 11.5 sacks and 20 TFL.  This year he is hoping to hit 20 sacks and it is very possible.

“I have to live up to my expectations, which is to break all the records that I can, dominate by a wide margin,” Garrett said. “Let it be unanimous. Don’t let anyone be close to how good you are, no matter what the division is — one, two or three.” Garrett also indicated during SEC Media Days that he wanted to be the first overall selection of (presumably) the 2017 draft, saying, “Who doesn’t?”

Garrett has set some pretty high goals considering the NCAA record for sacks is 24 (Terrell Suggs).

Wes Welker sounds jealous of Julian Edelman and Tom Brady's relationship

Julian Edelman is a funny guy but does he ride Tom Brady’s coattails?

In an interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub, Wes Welker told “Toucher and Rich Show about the relationship with Julian Edelman and Tom Brady.  Welker believes that Julian Edelman tries to mimic everything Brady does off the field. He seemed to have no problem talking about it, either.

“It’s a little too obvious,” Welker said, via CBS Boston. “I think it’s been noticed. I don’t know, I think it’s like going and getting Advil, and then there’s like the Walgreens prescription next to it.”

It sounds like Welker may be in his feeling since his is not Tom’s favorite target anymore, but he may have a point…. He did photoshop himself in the pic below….Just Sayin!

Merced College Freshman running back murdered in Oakland

Merced College Freshman RB Javiya Evans was shot and killed

When are we going to stop the violence?  We are learning that Freshman running back Javiya Evans was murdered in Oakland after an apparent argument led to him being shot and killed in an apartment complex.

Evans moved to Oakland to be closer to his children. He was a freshman running back at Merced College last year.  He wanted to play in the NFL very badly and planned on being the next Adrian Peterson. 

According to the East Bay Times, the shooting happened about 8:15 a.m. June 23. Evans was visiting some people at an apartment in the 2300 block of Baker Street in Oakland. According to police, Evans got into an argument with another man and was shot.

No arrests have been made, according to the Merced Sun Star.

Danny Amendola says Tom Brady once broke a ping pong paddle after losing to him

Tom Brady is a legend, but this story is pretty funny

Danny Amendola is a pretty good target for Tom Brady, but if he keeps telling stories like this about his quarterback he may never get the ball thrown his way again. Amendola recalled it during a Tuesday appearance on ESPN, was that he was in his first season with the Patriots when Brady challenged him to a game of ping pong. Amendola says that he beat Tom Brady so bad he threw a temper tantrum.

“He’s so competitive … I remember one story: It was my first week in the building and he wanted to play some ping pong. I didn’t really know how to go about it,” Amendola said, via CBS Sports. “I knew I was better than him, I didn’t want to beat him too bad because I wanted him to throw me the ball … I knew I was better. Needless to say, his competitive nature unleashed a broken paddle by the end of it. It’s the reason why we love him and the reason why he’s the best quarterback.”

Tom Brady is a beast, but I am not sure he wants stories like these out there.  What do you think?
