Find FREE HIV testing locations throughout New York City this National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

Did you know that in NYC:

Approximately 60% of new HIV infections each year are among gay and bisexual men.

Half of men living with HIV are gay or bisexual.

Half of men newly diagnosed with HIV in 2017 were Black or Latino.

Today is National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day observed each year on September 27 to direct attention to the ongoing and disproportionate impact of human immunodeficiency virus infection (HIV) and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) on gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) (https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/risk/gender/msm) in the United States. Gay and bisexual men are more severely affected by HIV than any other group in the United States. Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men made up an estimated 2% of the population but 55% of people living with HIV in the United States in 2013. If current diagnosis rates continue, 1 in 6 gay and bisexual men will be diagnosed with HIV in their lifetime, including 1 in 2 black/African American gay and bisexual men, 1 in 4 Hispanic/Latino gay and bisexual men, and 1 in 11 white gay and bisexual men.
