It was the annual carnival. The summer night clung to the town, the strings of lights glowing soft. The retro music drifted through the air making the carnival more lively.
"See...this is what I told you. Look how beautiful this is and you decided to stay and study" Nicholas said, shaking his head at his best friend, Euijoo.
"Well at least someone will get the good grades to move to the city. Won't they?"
"Ehh, I told you I don't wanna go and work my ass off, I'm happy here with my beautiful girl-AH there she is."
Nicholas's loud voice made Euijoo look at the direction where Nicholas's girlfriend - Hana - was. But all he could see was the girl who was next to Hana.
You stood with your hands tucked into the pockets of your lavender dress, laughing at something Hana said.
Beautiful.
"Yo come on. Let's go to my girl" Nicholas said, dragging the love-struck boy.
"HEY MY BABY" Hana exclaimed as soon as she saw her man.
"Baby, this is y/n. She's my pen-pal from the city and she's here for her summer vacation with her parents. And y/n , this is my baby, Nicholas and this is his best friend, Euijoo" Hana finished as she looped her arm through Nicholas's.
Up close you were more beautiful- like the sunset - the soft lavender dress hugged your body like the way he wished he could, your hair catching the carnival lights, the phrase city girl somehow explained everything and nothing.
"Hello, Pleasure to meet you" Your voice felt like the last breeze of the spring, gentle and warm.
Nicholas being the polite man, he bowed while Euijoo stood there frozen for a second before speaking, "H-hi, Nice to meet you too".
Nicholas smirked knowingly. "You good man? Why are you stuttering, huh?"
“I’m fine." Euijoo muttered, shooting him a warning look.
Hana laughed. “Come on, let’s walk. It's literally her first day and - OHH, we gotta watch the new movie baby LETS GO Y/N."
୨୧ ◠ ⸝⸝˙˳⑅˙⋆˙⑅˙˳⸜⸜ ◠ ୨୧
Well...watching a movie right next to a couple at night is not the greatest idea. Because all you could hear was hushed moans and kisses... (yuck)
Outside, the night air was cool, carrying the echo of the couple. Hana and Nicholas got into their car and waited for you and Euijoo.
Euijoo glanced at you, then at the empty road. "You guys can go ahead. We'll walk."
Soon enough You started walking down the quiet street, side by side. The city hummed softly around you. Footsteps falling into the same rhythm. It was just two strangers walking together.
And that felt much better than any movie.
"Soooo...You liked the movie?" he asked.
"It was fine." you said. "I mean everyone else seemed more interested in each other".
He laughed softly. "Yeah. Well, I'm used to it"
His laugh. It felt like the warmth of a lamp in the cold night.
There was a pause. Comfortable. Quiet.
He glanced at you. "So, tell me about yourself. All I know is that your name is Y/n, You’re 17 years old and from the city."
"Hm okay Byun Euijoo who's 18 years old from the town. Ask me what you want to know."
"Okay then... What are the plans you have for your future?"
That made your smile falter.
"Well...that's... My parents said that I will finish my studies and will start working as a nurse. And then that's it. What about you?"
He saw how the hollowness in your eyes took over the glint.
"Same, but I want to study literature. Okay, so what do YOU want to do, Is there anything that you like to do?"
"Don't laugh though...I like to paint."
"What's there to laugh at? Painting is such a great talent."
"By the way, do you want to run down the street?"
You looked at him with a confused expression. "Run?"
He turned to you. His eyes screamed mischievousness.
"It's romantic, Isn't it?"
He held out his hand, and you placed your hand without any hesitation, making him smile.
Your sneakers clicked through the night pavement, your laughter echoing through the quiet street. The wind tugged your dress while his eyes followed the beauty of his newfound love.
When you finally slowed, breathless, you turned to him, laughing, "THAT WAS SO FUN, Thank you for the night."
He tipped his imaginary hat, eyes sparkling, "You're welcome princess, do you want me to be at your service tomorrow morning in-front of the town park?"
"Oh you may, sir. But, now you have to walk me to my place."
"I will never say no to you."
And you went to your bungalow side by side, laughing. He steps back, his grin fading into a soft smile, "Bye, See you tomorrow." His honey voice echoed lightly in the night air.
He turns, the porch light catching the outline of his shoulders as he walks down the path, disappearing into the quiet street.
Inside, you collapsed onto the soft bed, sleep wrapping you with a cozy comfort that he left.
୨୧ ◠ ⸝⸝˙˳⑅˙⋆˙⑅˙˳⸜⸜ ◠ ୨୧
Euijoo was already there - exactly where he promised - standing near the old iron bench by the town park, hands tucked into his pockets, eyes scanning every passerby like you might slip past unnoticed. She won't show up. Why would she? She literally-
"Euijoo" The second he saw you, the world seemed to quiet.
You walked toward him in a red, knee-length dress, the color bold against the soft green of the park. The morning breeze teased the hem, sunlight catching in her hair. For a moment, he forgot how to breathe.
He smiled first. “You’re beautiful,” he said, simply.
You slowed, a small laugh escaping, as warmth rose to your cheeks. “Good morning to you too, Euijoo.”
And your eyes met and stayed that way - seconds stretching.
Then you smiled, softer now. “And… you look handsome as well.”
Something in his expression changed - A handsome smile crept into his face. "Thank you, Miss y/n... Soo, you wanna wander around?"
You nodded and just like that you began walking with no destination in mind. The park felt warmer as the morning stretched on. You stopped at a small ice cream cart near the fountain, Euijoo insisting on paying despite your protests. Vanilla for you, chocolate for him.
You sat on a bench after that, watching children run barefoot across the grass, their laughter ringing loud and careless. Euijoo pointed out one little boy who kept tripping over his own feet, told you the stories about his and Nicholas's childhood. You laughed so hard you had to lean against his shoulder, and he let you - like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Later, you wandered into a tiny street market just outside the park. That’s where he saw it - a simple bracelet, thin leather with a small metal charm. He picked up two without a word.
“Why are we buying two?” you asked.
“So, we match,” he replied, fastening one gently around your wrist. His fingers lingered a second longer than necessary. “That way you won’t forget me.”
You lifted your wrist, smiling. “As if I could.”
He looked at you - eyes widening ever so slightly, like he hadn’t expected the words to land so deeply. The playful ease he carried all day slipped away, replaced by something raw and tender. His lips parted, then curved into a quiet smile, the kind that reached his eyes.
“Yeah?” he murmured. "Yeah." You whispered, giving him the reassurance that he needed.
There was an adoring wonder in his gaze. He swallowed, rubbing the back of his neck, suddenly shy.
“Guess I’m lucky then,” he said softly.
The sun dipped lower, painting the sky in soft golds and pinks. Evening crept in quietly, wrapping the park in a calm hush. You stood near the same bench where the morning had begun, shadows stretching long between them.
You walked slowly, your steps unhurried, voices low as you talked about nothing and everything. The streetlights flickered on one by one, casting a soft glow over you.
When you reached your place, Euijoo stopped at the gate, hands slipping into his pockets. He hesitated, then looked at you.
“Are you… free tomorrow?”
You tilted your head, thinking. “I’m hanging out with Hana.”
“Oh,” he said, the word slipping out with quiet disappointment before he could stop it. His shoulders dropped just a little.
“But-” you added quickly, “I’m free in the evening.”
His eyes lifted instantly, hope rushing back in. “You are?”
You nodded, smiling.
He swallowed. “There’s… someone I want you to meet.”
You nodded softly. “Sure..."
Relief washed over his face, followed by that familiar gentle smile. “Then… I’ll come get you?”
You met his gaze, heart thudding. “Okay.”
"See you tomorrow", He stepped back, giving you one last look - like he was memorizing you - before turning toward his route. And as he walked away, you watched him go, already counting the hours until the next day evening.
୨୧ ◠ ⸝⸝˙˳⑅˙⋆˙⑅˙˳⸜⸜ ◠ ୨୧
Y/n stood by the front door, fingers nervously smoothing the skirt of your yellow dress for what felt like the hundredth time.
It fell just a little below your knees, the soft fabric catching the soft evening breeze. The square neckline framed your collarbones delicately - hair brushed, pinned back, a touch of makeup softening your features. Your eyes flicked toward the end of the road again.
But to your dismay, your father was sitting comfortably on the porch swing, legs crossed, newspaper spread wide in his hands as he enjoyed the village air. Y/n sighed quietly.
"Dad… isn't it so hot?" you asked again, leaning against the doorframe. "Why don't you go inside."
Your father didn't even look up, calmly turning the page of his newspaper.
"My baby, let me enjoy the village air, will you? The town doesn't feel this refreshing, does it?" He said leisurely, finally lowering the paper just enough to glance at you.
You forced a tight smile, though from inside you groaned. Of course he picked today to become sentimental about village weather.
"Yes, yes, village air is wonderful." You said quickly, as your eyes darted down the road again.
Still no sign of him…
Your father watched her for a moment over the rim of his glasses, his gaze slowly drifting from your restless face to the dress.
"You look very nice today." he remarked.
You stiffened. "OH?"
"I'm going to meet some of my friends."
Your father slowly folded one side of the newspaper down, peering at you over the rim of his glasses.
"Friends?" he repeated.
"Yes. Just…Hana and…some others…"
He hummed again, clearly not fully convinced, but he leaned back in the porch chair anyway, letting the newspaper rise in front of his face again.
"Well then…Don't stay out too late." He said lightly from behind the pages.
Your eyes immediately flicked back towards the road. And that's when you saw him. Euijoo had just turned the corner of the street, until he noticed you standing there. You felt your cheeks warm under his gaze.
And your dad of course noticed the tall guy.
"Well and who might that be?" He asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Friends! Bye dad!!" you blurted out quickly, leaning down to give him a kiss on the cheek before he could ask any other questions.
Euijoo barely had time to react as you reached him, your eyes wide as you subtly waved your hand, signaling him to turn around and start walking.
A grin broke across his face. He let out a breathless laugh as he turned with you, falling into step beside you as you hurried down the street together.
"Friends, huh?" he teased in between breaths. You shot him a look, though the corner of your mouth betrayed you.
"You heard nothing."
He laughed again, softer this time.
"You look beautiful today." he said.
"Today?" You asked, raising a brow as a laugh slipped out of you.
Euijoo's eyes widened immediately.
"N-no, wait-i mean-you are beautiful-the prettiest-you look good in yellow-actually you look good in every colour-" He rushed out, words tumbling over each other, but he stopped hearing your laugh.
The sound of your laugh drifted into the warm evening air, light and bright. To him it felt like the soft flutter of a sunflower petal in the wind- melodious, effortless. He blinked, stunned by it.
"Okay, okay, I get it." You said between laughs.
He chuckled sheepishly, looking down at the pavement for a second before glancing back at you.
"But it's true." he muttered.
You shook your head, still smiling, and nudged his arm lightly with your shoulder as you continued walking.
"So, you said there was someone you wanted me to meet?" You asked, tilting your head at him.
"Oh right- yeah… we're almost there." he said, a small smile returning to his lips.
They walked a little further down the quiet street until the houses began to thin out. The road curved gently, leading them to an older part of the town. In front of them was a large house-a very old one. The wall paint had faded and chipped in places. The wooden porch creaked softly when the wind brushed against it.
You looked at it for a moment before turning to Euijoo, confusion clearly written across your face. Euijoo rubbed the back of his neck, suddenly looking a little shy.
"So…Welcome to my home." He gestured towards the house. For a moment, he couldn't meet your eyes.
"I-I'm sorry, It's not…much. Not big like yours." He added quietly, a little embarrassed now.
You looked at the house and back at him. Then you smiled.
"It looks homely." You said.
His eyes lifted to you again, and something in them softened immediately - sparkling with adoration. A small breathy laugh escaped him, shy.
"I'm glad you think so." he murmured, pushing the old gates open.
You stepped onto the porch, the wooden boards singing beneath your feet. Euijoo paused at the door, taking a deep breath. You tilted your head, curiously.
"My dad- He's… um, he's at home, and-well, you know, i just thought-" He trailed off, embarrassed, but you gave him a reassuring smile.
"Let's meet him then." you said, taking a small step towards him.
Euijoo grinned, relief washing over him, and opened the door.
"Dad!!" Euijoo called as he stepped inside. From the living room,a deep, steady voice answered.
"Byun Euijoo? Who's that with you?"
You eyes met with Euijoo's, and you gave him a small, encouraging nod.
"This…is Y/n" he said, gesturing toward you. "She's my…friend."
His dad stepped into the view, taller than his son and broad. There was a pause as he looked at you.
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Miss Y/n" he said, with a hint of smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
You straightened, heart thudding slightly, and returned the smile. "Pleasure to meet you too, sir."
His dad's gaze softened, and the tension in the room lifted for a comfortable warmth to settle between you.
"Well now, pretty miss, why are you still standing?" His dad said suddenly. Before you could react, he reached over and lightly smacked the back of Euijoo's neck.
"Juju, where are your manners?"
Euijoo flinched. "OW-DAD!"
You blinked in surprise, quickly covering your mouth to hide a small laugh.
"Invite the girl to sit!" His father scolded, pointing toward the living room couch. "You bring a lady home and make her stand?"
"I was going to ask her to sit!" Euijoo protested while shooting his dad an offended look.
Your laughter slipped out this time. Euijoo glanced at you, a little embarrassed but smiling too.
"Please, sit." He said in a gentle voice. You sat down, still smiling, while Euijoo dropped into the chair beside you. His dad leaned against the doorway, arms crossed, observing the two of you with quiet amusement.
"So, miss Y/n, do you want anything to drink?"
"Ah, no sir, I'm totally fine." You said politely, shaking your head.
"Nonsense- I'll make tea for us. Come in with me." He said firmly, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Euijoo muttered under his breath "Then why did you ask her to sit?"
୨୧ ◠ ⸝⸝˙˳⑅˙⋆˙⑅˙˳⸜⸜ ◠ ୨୧
You sipped the tea quietly, letting the warmth settle in your hands as you listened to Euijoo and his dad talk.
You couldn’t help but notice the ease with which he spoke, the way his words flowed naturally, the way everything was effortless between them.
It was something you never experienced.
At your house, everything was measured. Discipline ruled your life. There was no room for choice in your life. You had no freedom and that’s why you were so surprised when your parents agreed to let you come to the village.
Well, they weren’t that fond of Hana, the girl you were visiting - she was a “village” girl, so much different from the children of the city they preferred her to be around. But still… “for the sake of your happiness”, they said.
Here, in this old, homely house, with Euijoo’s laughter filling the air and the scent of brewing tea wrapping around you, you felt something wonderful but foreign… Freedom.
୨୧ ◠ ⸝⸝˙˳⑅˙⋆˙⑅˙˳⸜⸜ ◠ ୨୧
The soft glow of the evening had deepened into full night, the windows now reflecting the warm light from the kitchen. Euijoo’s father glanced out the window and then looked at his son with a gentle smile.
“Well, it looks like it’s dark out. Juju… why don’t you drop her off? Don’t want the city girl wandering home in the dark.”
“Y-yeah, of course, Dad."He said, standing and gesturing for you to follow him.
"Thank you for the tea, Sir." you said, bowing slightly.
"You're welcome, Miss Y/n. Just take care of him, alright?"
Euijoo groaned from behind you, but his eyes were sparkling.
"Come on, Let's get you home." He said, opening the door for you.
The night air was cool and calm, the stars just beginning to peek out above the rooftops. As you walked side by side down the streets, Euijoo stole glances at you, a shy smile tugging at his lips, and you felt your heart flutter just a little more with each step.
The night wind teased your yellow dress, lifting the hem slightly as it brushed your legs. The lampposts lining the street, cast a soft, golden glow on the delicate fabric, making you look ethereal in Euijoo's eyes. He couldn't take his gaze off you, the way the light caught your hair, the gentle sway of your frock.
His brown hair caught the lamplight in a way that made the strands look golden, shimmering faintly as the breeze teased them. The wind pressed his shirt gently against his torso, outlining the lean frame. And you felt heat rise to your cheeks before you could stop it, glancing down as if to hide your blush.
Euijoo, aware of your gaze, couldn't help but let a small. shy smile tug at his lips.
"You've been staring for a while." he said, eyes glistening with mischievousness.
You froze, heat rushing to your cheeks. "W-What? No… I wasn't." you stammered.
"You totally were." He said again, stepping closer.
Your hands twisted nervously at your sides, and you licked your lips nervously, suddenly aware of how close he is. Your lips, slightly glossy from the nervous bite of your own spit, caught his attention immediately, and he couldn't tear his eyes away.
You finally dared to meet his eyes, and the world felt impossibly small. He tilted his head slightly, a faint exhale escaping him.
Euijoo's voice dropped into a soft, whiny murmur. "Why did we have to be in the road now?"
"Well… no one's here at this hour… right?" You whispered, voice barely louder than the night wind.
Euijoo let out a shuddered exhale, the sound vibrated through you as he rested his hand on your waist hesitantly. He felt you shift slightly closer, the tiniest hint of permission, he let his hand slide around you, drawing you impossibly closer. Your heart raced, with excitement and nervous anticipation, and you couldn't stop yourself from leaning in just a little. His eyes searched yours, dark and intense.
Euijoo's voice dropped to a husky whisper, "Can I kiss you please?"
Your eyes widened, heart hammering in your chest. Without a word, you reached up and grabbed him by the collar, pulling him toward you with sudden urgency.
A low groan escaped Euijoo as he tilted his head, angling yours just enough to deepen the kiss. His hands pressed firmly at your waist, drawing you close. Your fingers tangled in his hair, holding him as if you couldn't let go, and Euijoo's lips moved against yours with a mix of desperation and tenderness.
You pulled back first, gasping for air, your chest heaving. His eyes darkened as he leaned again, chasing your lips needily.
"E-euijoo-" you breathed, placing your hands gently against his chest to push him back just a fraction.
"Let me breathe." You laughed softly.
He paused, resting his forehead lightly against yours, staring into you eyes. And in your soft tender gaze, he saw the innocence that he wanted to own, and a trust he wanted to protect with his entire being.
"Eui-" you started, your voice trembling.
"I love you." He cut in, voice sincere.
"I love you too." You whispered gently, and you pulled him into an another gentle, tender kiss.
He pressed himself against you, holding himself back with every ounce of control but the need in his eyes betrayed him.
"Euijoo… we have to go home now." You said softly, pulling back just enough to catch your breath.
He blinked at you, wide-eyed and still flushed from the kiss. "W-what"
Euijoo ran a hand through his hair, letting out a nervous chuckle. "Oh-yeah, yeah… Let's go now." he said quickly, though the faint smirk on his lips betrayed that he was far from ready to let the moment end.
They started walking side by side again, slower this time, and much softer than earlier. You stole a glance at him, and Euijoo caught your eye, sharing a small, secret smile.
୨୧ ◠ ⸝⸝˙˳⑅˙⋆˙⑅˙˳⸜⸜ ◠ ୨୧
A lot of things changed after that night.
You looked different. You smiled more often. You seemed more lighter now. You paid attention to how you looked before leaving the house, smoothing your dress, fixing your hair, glancing at the mirror a second longer than before. There was a softness in your eyes that made you glow.
Euijoo changed too. He felt lighter than before. Even when he was studying, he was always smiling. That stupid smile. It's the way his eyes unconsciously searched for you every time.
And of course… your parents noticed too.
Your mother noticed how you hummed quietly while brushing your hair. How you always paid attention to the small details. How carefully you chose your dress for the "hangouts". And most of all, she noticed the smile… And mothers were rarely wrong about these things.
୨୧ ◠ ⸝⸝˙˳⑅˙⋆˙⑅˙˳⸜⸜ ◠ ୨୧
One afternoon, Nicholas, Hana, Euijoo and You ended up walking through the small-town market. It turned into a double date as Hana was so happy that two of her friends got together.
The market buzzed with life - vendors calling out prices, the smell of fried snacks, colourful fabrics swaying in the gentle breeze. But Euijoo barely noticed any of it.
His eyes kept drifting to you.
You were walking beside him, your fingers occasionally brushing against his when your hands swung too close. Every small contact made his chest tighten.
He told himself to look somewhere else. But somehow his gaze always found its way back to you.
And the worst part?
You were doing the exact same thing.
Every time you tried to focus on what Hana was saying ahead of them, you’d feel it. When you turned your head, Euijoo would already be looking at you.
And then you’d both quickly look away. Only for it to happen again a few seconds later.
At one point your eyes met and stayed there a little longer than they meant to.
A small, shy smile tugged at your lips. Euijoo looked away instantly, rubbing the back of his neck.
Meanwhile, Nicholas and Hana were completely in their own world.
Hana was excitedly pointing at a bracelet stand while Nicholas dramatically complained about how many bags he was already holding.
“Baby, you said we were just looking.” Nicholas groaned.
“Exactly. We are looking.” Hana replied sweetly, picking up another bracelet.
Behind them, Euijoo and you slowed your steps slightly. Euijoo’s gaze lingered longer than it should have. There was something unguarded in his eyes now, the burning desire.
And you mirrored it. You tried to focus on the lively market around them, but it was impossible when Euijoo looked like that.
“Nicho, are there anywhere else you wanted to go or…?” Euijoo asked, trying to sound casual.
Nicholas glanced at Hana, who was still holding two bracelets in her hands.
“Hm… no, I guess.” he said, shrugging. “Right, baby?”
Hana shook her head. “Nope, I think we’re done here.”
Euijoo nodded slowly, trying not to look too eager.
“Uh… okay then,” he said, glancing at you for a second before looking back at Nicholas. “Me and Y/n… we’re going to see the sunset. Gonna go to the river shore.”
Nicholas raised an eyebrow instantly, the corner of his mouth lifting into a knowing grin.
“The river shore, huh?”
Euijoo rolled his eyes. “Shut up.”
Hana giggled, nudging Nicholas with her elbow. “Let them go.”
“Okay then,” Nicholas said dramatically, throwing his arm around Hana’s shoulders. “We’ll head back before it gets dark.”
Euijoo gave a quick nod, already turning slightly toward the road that led away from the market.
Hana pulled you into a quick hug before they parted.
“See you tomorrow.” Hana whispered with a playful smile.
You laughed softly and nodded before stepping back, waving at Nicholas as he lazily lifted a hand in return.
“Don’t stay out there till it gets too dark.” he called out.
Euijoo rolled his eyes and gently took your hand, leading you away from the busy market. As you walked toward the river shore he had mentioned, the noise of the town slowly faded behind them. The path grew quieter, and the golden sunset light slowly dimmed as trees began to cover the road.
“Juju… are you sure this is the right path?” you asked, your voice playful but carrying a hint of curiosity.
“My love,” he said with a small smirk, slowing his steps, “I’ve been living in this village my whole life. What do you think?”
You laughed quietly, shaking your head. He squeezed your hand gently, guiding you further down the path.
Euijoo turned his head slightly and looked at you.
The golden light brushed over your skin, making it glow softly, almost unreal. Your hair caught the fading sunlight, each strand shimmering faintly as the breeze moved it around your shoulders.
She looked perfect.
Euijoo swallowed, a strange wave of possessiveness settling heavy in his chest. The thought crept into his mind before he could stop it - mine.
His breathing grew a little heavier as he looked away quickly, trying to steady himself.
A little further down the shore, partly hidden by tall grass and old trees, stood a small abandoned house.
Euijoo cleared his throat.
“Th- there’s this house over there.” he said, his voice not as steady as he hoped.
He pointed toward it, glancing back at you.
“D-do you wanna go?”
His eyes searched yours, almost pleading you to say yes.
You could feel it. There was something deeper in the way he looked at you, something warm and intense that made your own pulse quicken.
When you whispered, “Yes,” you saw the way his eyes darkened.
Euijoo didn’t say another word. He grabbed your hand and pulled you along, speedwalking toward the small house near the river, his grip warm and firm around your fingers.
Your heart was racing by the time you reached the door. He pushed it open quickly and guided you inside.
The second the door closed behind them, Euijoo let out a quiet, frustrated whine.
Before you could say anything, his hands were already at your waist, pulling you closer. His lips found yours almost instantly. You gasped softly against his mouth as he deepened it, his hold tightening slightly around your waist.
“E-Euijoo-” you tried to speak.
“Why do you look so good?” he whined softly against your lips, the words slipping out almost helplessly.
You let out a small giggle at that, the sound light and warm in the quiet house.
But the giggle faded the moment you looked up at him. His eyes were darker now.
Oh…
Euijoo leaned down again, slower this time, pressing his lips to yours in a softer kiss. His other hand came up to cup the side of your face, his thumb brushing gently along your cheek.
He guided you backward step by step. You followed instinctively until your back met the cool wooden wall with a soft thud.
Euijoo placed one hand beside your head, while the other stayed firm on your waist, holding you there.
“You’re mine right, baby?” he murmured, his voice low and rough.
You blinked up at him, heart racing at the intensity in his eyes.
His slightly messy hair, the way his chest rose and fell, the way he seemed almost nervous beneath all that confidence.
Your hands slid up to his collar, fingers curling lightly into the fabric.
“Euijoo…Of course I am…” You whispered, your breath brushing his ear. “But prove that I’m yours, will you?”
Euijoo let out a low groan, dropping his forehead against your shoulder.
“You’re going to be the death of me.” he muttered, his voice muffled against your skin.
You laughed quietly, the sound warm and teasing, your fingers slipping into his hair as you gently scratched his scalp. Euijoo lifted his head slowly, his eyes still heavy with that same intense look, though now there was a hint of helpless amusement in them too. His hand tightened slightly on your waist as he leaned closer again, brushing his nose lightly against yours before stealing another slow kiss.
“Fuck…” he cursed under his breath, his voice trembling with how much he was holding back.
He pulled back suddenly, running a hand through his hair like he was trying to gather himself. For a second he just looked around the room, breathing a little heavier than before.
His eyes landed on an old wooden chair pushed near the wall.
Euijoo let out a short, nervous laugh, shaking his head.
“You’re really testing my self-control here.” he muttered, glancing back at you. Then he dragged the chair a little closer with his foot and sat down, signaling you gently to come closer. You hesitated for only a second before sitting on his lap, your arms instinctively wrapping around his shoulders for balance.
“I love you so much, Y/n. You don’t even know.” he said softly, his hands coming up to cup your cheeks. “I wanna spend my whole life with you, baby.”
Your brows furrowed slightly, confusion softening your expression.
“Juju… I love you too. So much,”you said, your fingers brushing lightly through the hair at the back of his neck. “But why all of a sudden, baby?”
Euijoo let out a breathy chuckle, his thumbs gently brushing over your cheeks.
“I just… felt like saying it,” he murmured, leaning his forehead against yours. “Sometimes you just need to remind the person you love how much they mean to you.”
“I want to spend my whole life with you too…” you whispered, voice barely louder than a breath before you kissed him again.
Euijoo’s hands instinctively tightened around your waist, pulling you closer against him. Your fingers threaded gently through his hair, tugging just slightly, and he let out a soft hum against your lips.
Your breathing mixed between kisses, the quiet creak of the old house, the only sound around you. Euijoo tilted his head slightly, deepening the kiss again, more certain now. One of his hands slid up your back, steady and protective, while the other stayed firm on your waist. You melted into him, arms curling around his neck.
Then-
A loud crash exploded through the silence.
The door burst open so violently it slammed against the wall.
Euijoo and You jerked apart instantly. Nicholas stood in the doorway, breathing hard, his eyes wide with pure horror as he took in the scene in front of him.
“OKAY- YES-I DIDN’T EXPECT THIS,” he blurted out, raising both hands like he had just walked into something catastrophic.
