the concept of nico and lewis (mainly nico) constantly talking about each other after nico retired like was it casual when we rode unicycles and scooters together. was it casual when we ate ice cream specifically vanilla because we were attached to that flavor for some reason and boxes of pizza because we thought it was cool. was it casual when we ate kellogg’s frosties and cut the boxes out because we thought they meant something. was it casual when we held each other in the cooldown room in front of our team principal. was it casual when we both went vegan after cutting each other off. was it casual when i went through a million different emotions in a span of three seconds after someone said ‘you know him well’. was it casual when i thought you purposely flunked quali and went on live tv to say ‘well we’re not friends’. it’s not casual. it’s not because i still can’t say your name even if i give your daughters presents during christmas. it’s not casual because i named my dog after you. it’s not casual because i wrote you a letter and made toto read it to you out loud because you didn’t receive it. it’s not casual because you never told me that you were going to retire if you became champion in 2016 and you did. so it wasn’t casual. there’s a quote that i think about often that reminds me of brocedes that’s something along the lines of ‘they will hook me up to a polygraph and ask me if i love you and i will say no but the machine will jump and sputter exactly how you laugh’ and that is why brocedes is so insane to me. they have so much lore. a canon event of being an f1 fan is going down the brocedes spiral i think
