I always find Star Trek's depiction of interspecies romantic relationship weird, because I never feel like the fact the character are aliens mattered. Amanda/Sarek, Spock/Nyota, Jadzia/Work, Deanna/Riker, Romulan/Leeta.... They all feel like Humans/Humans pairing and some of those pairing is Alien/Alien. While we can appreciate that those relationship aren't really taboo, sometimes I feel like Sarek and Spock are just logical humans men with pointed ears. Most of those relationship are Human (american) coded. It seems they are all sexually compatible, there are no space STI, no strangeness like they are all the same or love is enough. They all date like humans ... I can see why people like those pairing but with the exception of Fenna (Nidell) who try to fit a human man standard, there is no really thoughts on this.
