How Volo Feels about Giratina.

They are kin. Volo's heart and Giratina are one in the same, or at the very least absurdly similar. While resentful and seemingly cast out of Arceus's light.... Both have the capacity for wanting to change the world for the better. His forgone conclusion was to try to bend the world to his will, which...failed.

Volo's spirit breaks a little bit. He tells Laverre that 'Giratina decided to protect Hisui.'

You see, Giratina might not have been the only one. It wasn't immediately, but he probably did come to the same conclusion, after an incredibly messy cycle of grief. He feels hopeless, powerless, and worst of all, useless. Upon defeat by the protagonist, Volo is fighting the urge to commit suicide. If he can't have the world the way that he wanted, why even stick around at all? But, he doesn't give in to that, in the end. Doubtless that dream of yours would never leave room for the dreams of one like me... My journey is over. My story ended when I lost to you.

However, by the time you make it to Turnback Cave, the being that he wielded, and idolized, is made timid and just wants to be safe. Volo either sees that Giratina has changed their mind (if he's telling the truth.), or is merely projecting upon a scared dragon. Later on down the timeline, Giratina becomes absurdly territorial and protective of Sinnoh. It's more akin to a guardian, which is what would be willing to stay with the protagonist.

Mind you, we do not see Volo again after such. I feel as if Volo, or at least my muse, would have to just deal with the fact that direct violence is probably not the answer. He's going to be thinking about what kind of dream the protagonist has for the world. He has to take that into account.

Giratina couldn't do it. The key to Arceus is the protagonist.

Galacta Knight was already teetering on being at his wits end when he threw himself at this planet which should have been kind of abandoned, if his sources were to be believed. Evidently, his sources were a little wrong. Fantastic.

Why exactly he felt so stressed at this moment in time was currently a mystery to the old Knight. He couldn’t tell if the stressor was an old memory inviting itself back into his brain again, or an excess of magic coursing through his blood, or whatever else. He just wanted that stressed out feeling to be gone and out of his body. Usually, meditation did just the trick.

But today it just wasn’t working right. Why? He didn’t know why. Too many thoughts at one time maybe, and the presence of another person doing whatever else didn’t help. He was content to let them be, kind of hoping they’d look this way and go “Gah! The Aeon Hero! How scary!” before they’d just... Hurry up and leave.

But it didn’t look like that was happening.

“...I’ve got a lot to think about.” The Puffball hissed under his breath, attempting to alleviate the situation by adjusting his position to gaze away from where his little guest was... Fishing? Okay...

“Besides... Shouldn’t a ninja be a practiced expert in the art of silence?”
