Before he was Ranmaru Tempest... Before the storms, the stars, and the Qilin...

...he was simply Satoru Mikami.

A thirty-year-old salaryman who worked too much, slept too little, and somehow still found the energy to smile when a child smiled back.

The little girl is Suki, and beside her is her mother.

On an ordinary evening in the park, their paths crossed with Satoru's for only a few moments.

Some people are remembered for the lives they take.

Others are remembered for the lives they choose to save.

Character Introduction 🌌

✨ Ranmaru Tempest — The Celestial Qilin

The central figure of my AU: 🌙 Sovereign Comet

Unlike canon Rimuru, Ranmaru (Rinmaru) reincarnates as a celestial Qilin, inspired by eastern mythology, cosmic fantasy, and wandering-star legends. His very presence alters the world around him, bringing calm, life, and sanctuary wherever he walks.

The name “Ranmaru” carries the meaning: ✨ Ran (蘭): Means "orchid," a flower historically associated with elegance, grace, and refinement in Japanese and East Asian culture.

✨Maru (丸): A traditional suffix commonly used in Japanese boys' names. It literally translates to "circle" or "round," but in the context of names, it symbolizes perfection, completeness, and wholeness. 💫 For this fic, Orchid Completion. It will all make sense in the next chapter.

A fitting name for a being whose soul becomes intertwined with storms, stars, and destiny itself.

His design draws inspiration from: 🌌 Qilin mythology 🌌 celestial beasts 🌌 cosmic imagery 🌌 and Sisu from Raya and the Last Dragon

Features include: ✨ flowing white mane ✨ dragon claws and deer hooves ✨ floral resonance ✨ celestial storm magic ✨ star-inspired spatial abilities ✨ and a divine presence mistaken for a god by many throughout Jura.

But beneath the mythology and power is a lonely being searching for connection in a world that fears monsters.

And somewhere deep within the Sealed Cave… a certain Storm Dragon is waiting for him. 💕

One of the reasons why I love my wife, fellow Nfamous staffer @Nightminx, is because we share so many likes and hobbies. One of the biggest ones we share is the love of WWE programming. I mean, I like pro wrestling in general, but she is a huge WWE fan. Especially when it comes to John Cena. So when she learned it was his birthday today, she just had to do an article about it. I love her and how she wants to help out on the writing side of the site when she can.
