Sougo lets out a sigh, taking off the reading glasses off his face as he settled down at the café. He stows this away in his briefcase, and also takes the required files out. These papers held important documents-- but not for any case he would be working on. Right now, he has no case to take on as he managed to defend his last client with an astonishing victory. He has his doubts whether the man was actually innocent, but he’s managed to make the court declare that he’s not guilty. Good. That’s how most of his cases tend to go, since his family name has earned him fame and popularity in the court world. But now, it’s time for him to take a breather and finally start leading his own personal investigation.
But a familiar sight causes Sougo’s thoughts to stop in place, and he immediately slams his briefcase shut. He’d like to think his years of being a lawyer caused him to be stronger when it comes to initiating conversation, but the sight of his old college friend manages to squander him back into deference. He figures his voice will only be meek if he stays here, so he rises from his seat. He approaches the man, “Yamato-san! It’s been so long-- I wasn’t sure if I’ll ever see you again.” Of course they had each other’s contact information, but, it’s not like Sougo to bother anyone in the case that the other wanted him out of their life-- and the idea that he can’t enter in a conversation just to make small talk without an incentive. But it doesn’t hurt to catch up, right?
“You just ordered too, right? I have an empty seat, if you’re not too busy.” Sougo pauses, “but if you have somewhere to be, then forgive me for being a bother.”
