Oh yeah, what’s up with the Combat de Goût? Some event that’s happening soon?

BONNIE: TIME FOR LESSONS WITH BONNIE!

BONNIE: Combat De Gout is a Bambouche exclusive holiday which, to put it simply, is a MASSIVE food fight.

BONNIE: People put on their nicest outfits and cook up the best meals, snacks, or drinks to bring to the battle. The last guy standing with the cleanest clothes, preferably spotless, is the Combat Champ!

BONNIE: Then we have a nice town feast and it's all fun and stuff.

BONNIE: It's our yearly tradition and it's sooo fun.

BONNIE: .......Hoooowwwweeeevveerrr.

BONNIE: It is Nille's least favorite holiday of all time.

BONNIE: Makes her too anxious for some reason. I'm not really sure why?? I think it's the fact people can sneak up on you and throw things at you, maybe it's just too startling.

BONNIE: I dunno.

BONNIE: So Nille just locks herself in the house all day, even after the fights over and we're eating.

BONNIE: So I'll bring food back for her and we'll eat together!

BONNIE: Then we'd play board games and have a pillow fight and have a sleepover!!!!! Even though, you know, we always slept in the same house. But we'd have a sleepover anyway.

BONNIE: It was nice! It's been even nicer getting to spend Combat with everyone nowadays but... I still love the times I get to spend with Nille like that. We keep up our Combat traditions, just the two of us.

BONNIE: ....But now.

BONNIE: RUE'S PROBABLY GOING TO RUIN EVERYTHING!!

BONNIE: A n y w a y .

BONNIE: My special job today is to do some deliveries for Combat De Gout. I'm gonna go around delivering ingredients to people and picking stuff up for others.

BONNIE: Combat De Gout is tomorrow so everyone's SUPER busy preparing for it. You know, making food, preparing their outfits, the whole thing. So it's good to have a pair of hands running around taking things back and forth.

BONNIE: I'm pretty important. What can I say.

BONNIE: ...I should probably move a bit faster and start getting those done

raising a kid is so hard and raising a kid on your own is even harder and raising a kid who has already gone through some traumatizing shit is even harder and raising a kid when you yourself are also young and traumatized and struggling??? nille did well by any metric but considering the fucking circumstances she deserves every medal in the world.

i dont think its still thursday anywhere in the world right now but it transcends time and space so! small hc that petronille calls bonnie "bon". just bon. and bonnie has that filed as a a "nille-only name" and the first time anyone in the party tried to come up with a nickname for them it was bon and they were Not Happy about it and so bonbon was created.

i totally subscribe to that!!! as well as the last syllable nickname being their - as in bonnie and nille's - thing. mayyyybe a north shore of vaugarde thing too, if u wanna expand the cultural worldbuilding for funsies. but their thing definitely!! and i can for sure see bonnie not wanting to be called "bon" at least until nille is safe and unfrozen. maybe after that! but by that point, all the name variants the party uses would probably be solidified... "bon" stays nille's, then! ^^

as an aside, from what i remember, it was siffrin that came up with "bonbon" (if not, someone correct me), and i find that sooo cutes. those two mean everything to me. i truly believe siffrin lets himself use it again post-canon, once everything between him and bonnie is cleared up. for my soul

There are a few changes to the story, like Nille taking Bonnie to the House Of Change and working as a blacksmith for it. Bonnie getting frozen in time inside the house of change, leaving Nille to find other people who are willing to help with the King's rampage

Isabeau being an adventurer, who mainly spends his time with Siffrin (both already being bonded). They both stumble upon Nille while on a walk through a forest

Mirabelle is both a journalist but also a student to a school somewhere far from Dormont's location, she was in the House Of Change a really long time ago, but hasn't been to it up until Nille found her

And Odile.... well, let's just say she stumbled into the party, rather than the party stumbling into her. Her job would actually be what Siffrin's job was in In Stars And Time, finding traps and other things

The general story would play out the same as ISAT, Siffrin ending up causing a loop that forces him and the party to relive the House Of Change, however this time, Loop would also look different. Also being a cook, or in this instance, "The Chef"

The only one that Siffrin would talk about relating the loops is Isabeau, for most of them, anyway

Despite the fact Siffrin wouldn't fight due to not being an actual party member, he'd actually attack a lot more with each ACT, and the party would even wonder about it, as Siffrin here has never been much of an attacker. He'd also learn a lot of things that aren't ouright Crafts, but they would help the party a lot in combat (giving Boosts, more Healing, Etc.)

YOU are a baby... nothing hurts quite like a baby being forced to raise another... far too young to be responsible for someone else's life
