okay guys pleeeease hear me out on something. nirvanah crane x kochanski HEARRR. ME OUT. i really really love nirvanah and find her a really interesting character and i often think about how she could somehow be reinvolved with the rest of the cast and i often land on 'something bad happens to the enlightenment (eg a highly contagious holovirus that kills most of the crew) and nirvanah is one of the only survivors, somehow leaves the ship and potentially has a run-in with legion or another space station that's able to upgrade her to hardlight'. and she meets kochanski after kochanski leaves red dwarf. and they kiss or something i dunno. i just think theyre neat and there's a disgusting lack of femslash content in rd

For months I've thought that the only person I've ever heard with the same accent as Nirvanah was Jane Horrocks's Sally Bowles. Imagine my surprise when I just now found out who Nirvanah's actress is

I attempted to draw Nirvanah from memory? Could have been worse. I like to think she was tired of fighting to maintain her place on the holoship, being so low on the ladder there. Maybe that's why she reached out to Rimmer. I think she, Rimmer, and Kochanski have a fair bit in common that would be worth exploring. Also, I like that Kochanski and Rimmer both had teddy bears. It's cute.

As mentioned in my post about The Enlightenment, I just love Nirvanah. I think her understanding towards Rimmer and willingness to give up her life so that he can fulfill his dream shows a great depth of kindness and empathy, but I think also speaks to the loneliness she must have felt on her vessel, where affection and romance have no place and relationships between crew members seem shallow at best. Not to mention that, as the one who matches with Rimmer for the challenge, she's likely the "lowest" of the her crew; do the other people on the Enlightenment respect her less? Is that also why she's drawn to Rimmer? I really hope that after Holoship she managed to find some happiness and connect with someone in the same way she did with him
