Library Workers Day April 21st
Every Tuesday of National Library Week, we celebrate National Library Workers Day to honor the contributions, hard work, and expertise of all library workers. First celebrated in 2004, National Library Workers Day is a time to recognize and celebrate the important role of library staff in our communities.
The photographs featured here show library workers at UW-Milwaukee moving books from the old Mitchell Hall library into the new Kenwood Library in Mellencamp Hall in 1954.
All of these photographs can be found in the UW-Milwaukee Photographs Collection, UWM AC 6, Box 6 and also online in the UWM Photos Digital Collection at the UWM Archives.
