Okay I just rewatched Cats (2019) and my opinions have absolutely not changed I still love it dont @ me
Like I get the cgi is bad and I agree. But if you can look passed that? I think it's the most faithful stage-to-screen production ever
If you're a fan of the stage show then the movie is great. It's like they just built a giant stage and filmed the stage show as is. Sure they make a couple questionable artistic choices (jenny anydots lol) but most of it is great and faithful to the stage.
Grizabelle?? Makes me cry every time. The actress for Victoria is amazing and now that I dance ballet I appreciate her choreography a lot more. Mr Mistoffelees, skimbleshanks, and rumplereaser and mungojerrie are all loads of fun like always. And all the ensemble pieces are perfect too.
The stage show barely had a plot at all it's just a bunch of fun singing and dancing, and I think the movie did a good job of reproducing that on screen
the truth
Well would you take a look at this bullshit.
“I cannot believe you turn a fanfiction into a political statement condoning attacks on our police. Sure there are some rotten apples in there, and that should be addressed. But the vast majority of them are GOOD people. Yet you practically celebrate their murder. This sickens me. Not reading anything more.”
This ^^^ is a comment I received today at AO3 on chapter 38 of The Department.
If anyone feels the urge to reply to this person, don’t let me stop you. Particularly since, you know, the whole point of that chapter is to bring attention to the fact that there are “rotten apples”, and address it. I myself won’t be replying to the comment at the moment because I’m sort of exhausted by the sheer *insert word of your choice here* of it.
Also since there’s no mention of “murder” (or any insinuation of a “celebration” of it) anywhere. Period. In my fic. That I’m writing. The fic that doesn’t condone murder or injustice of any kind. Yeah that one.
One part I will touch on briefly right now before I close the tab and huff out a long sigh of flustered amazement. This bit right here:
“Condoning attacks on our police.”
I guess this person thinks it’s perfectly fine for those police to attack innocent protesters? I distinctly remember police teargassing a fucking priest outside the White House. And children. And pretty much everyone else. And knocking elderly people to the ground and splitting their heads open. And inciting criminal activity. And shooting people in the face and head with projectiles at close range. And breaking windows and setting fire to businesses to blame on peaceful crowds. And blocking medical personnel from assisting the injured. And attacking and injuring those medical personnel while they’re trying to help people. And an outrageously despicable laundry list of other war-crime level atrocities.
That’s okay though, right?
❤❤❤
Okay so. I will be the designated phone caller, because all of my friends don't like phone calls and I'm like "JUST CALL THEM IT'S EASIER" so I'll take one for the team and make all the calls.
Person: Now this apartment is cheaper because there’s no balcony, I don’t know if that will matter to you.
Me, seeing the giant ass windows: I WILL TAKE IT THANK YOU VERY MUCH
