the REAL question, other than "is it thursday yet," is whether pallas (me) can maintain her already 36 page note doc for this campaign.

A non-manipulative Max
So I’ve decided to play Life is Strange again and I’m going for something a bit... different this time. Minimal Rewinds. Essentially I’ll Rewind when the game requires it but not use it for conversations or the like.
I recall one thing said by some people about how Max is manipulative and nosy. Well, part of that is the player being nosy because if you don’t nose around everywhere you end up missing out on clues or stuff you need. And Max is still poking her nose where she’s not welcome. But I’m also not rewinding conversations or the like.
Or even to save Alyssa from being pegged by a football. The game chided me on that. ;) Or Max did in her journal at least. ;) (Seriously. The game pushes you to use the Rewind as much as possible and then says “You caused the Storm by Rewinding, asshole!” Yeah, asshole move, Dontnod.)
One thing I chose not to do was check on the birth control test this time around. You can do so and not Rewind out of it and you do end up making up with Dana later, but I figure this time around let’s see what being oblivious gets you. Though interestingly enough even glancing in the box and seeing it caused the birth control test to show up in Max’s journal.
Anyway... this Max should be interesting. And yes, not Rewinding might miss out on some valuable information but... I am curious if Dontnod factored in this possibility. Dream-Max chewed out Max for manipulating people. But if Max never manipulated anyone... does the game notice? (Does Max just have such horrid self-confidence issues she’d still blame herself?) It should be interesting to see what happens. :)
Oh, and Warren is so far in the Friendzone that Max’s journal went “eww” at the thought of dating him. Yes! ^_^ Now to have fun connecting with Chloe once more....
Thoughts on No Rewinds and the ethics of that view
Okay. I’ve chosen to try and run through LiS with as few Rewinds as possible. However, it dawned on me that there is one small hiccup in this view: I had Max use her time-travel abilities (a Rewind) to save a stranger’s life (who ended up being Chloe but that’s beside the point). Does that not mean that when it comes to saving lives... Max should Rewind?
This is primarily a problem when it comes to the end of the Dark Room. Now, okay, Rewinding to save David is one thing as we’re also saving Max and stopping a serial sex offender (and what Jefferson is doing is close enough to sex crimes that it likely would qualify - that and I truly suspect he’s raped his victims as well after he’s done photographing them and their “innocence” is “lost”). But there is another point where you can save multiple people, or let them die.
And yes, that’s when you go through Arcadia Bay and see people get hit by signs and the like. So wouldn’t Max try to save them as well? Or does it even matter seeing Max intends on photo-jumping to save Chloe, and thus her actions will cease to exist?
Personally I think Max would use her Rewind to save other people. Even if she is going to negate it all afterward... she went back to that bathroom to save a life she didn’t know. Even if she avoids using it except when necessary (or when Chloe insists)... that fundamental aspect still remains. Save lives. It is why she got the Rewind to begin with - to save Chloe. So I think my Max will try to save people’s lives. It only makes sense to do so.
You know what?
Screw it.
These next few days are gonna be stressful and crowded, Background Noise Jurassic Park movie marathon until we buy Dominion either the day before the election or while we're out voting, from the start, all five movies, even while sleeping.
Can I make a playlist on Peacock?
Story Driven Video Games
I’ve been playing them a lot lately. Life oftentimes feels like them. Sometimes it feels like all possible choices are the wrong choice.
So. I’m gonna lie here on the floor, facedown, until I can come up with some kinda conclusion to what to do.
