My favorite way to listen to TAZ: Balance is by reading it like practically every character has a huge crush on Magnus to varying degrees.
Some are more physical attraction - Hudson the Engineer comes to mind, for some reason - and some are more innocent - how Noelle speaks to Magnus just before they fight the tardigrades in the anti-gravity chamber. Some are balanced, like Avi who definitely invited Magnus to work out to see him flex those muscles, but also thinks that's a fun first date idea.
Lucretia, Taako, Merle, Dav, Barry, and Lup aren't free from this headcanon either. They're all into Maggie Burnsides as much as anyone. Specifically Taako and Lucretia. Those smitten glances in the graphic novels that Taako throws Magnus' way? The strict wall of professionalism ("Magnus, this is the nightmare scenario" in regards to a back rub as a gift.) that Madame Director has to put up ? Can't elaborate but you can fill in the blanks.
