Beauty!
Once again, here I bring you my second batch of character designs for Donaji & Itzcacalotl The Webcomic. I've used my current vacations to work on the webcomic, writing down ideas, plot lines, designing characters and building the world in order to be able to actually start drawing the first chapters!
Like in my previous batch, I'll just say some basic stuff about each character in order to avoid any spoilers.
Chilomitl is a sorceress. She lives in complete isolation from other people. Her name means "Red Bone". She's an antagonist.
Ayauhtli is a kind shrine maiden from an Ayauhcalli (House of mist). Her name literally means "Mist". She's ACTUALLY a retake on a really old character I doodled several years ago: Imminent Sacrifice . I had already planned to include her in the webcomic since 2014, but up until now I came up with a role for her. She changed quite drastically.
Nochtli is a Tlacuilo, basically an artist whose job is to paint codices. Her name means "Fruit", more specifically the fruits that grow from Nopal, a species of mexican cactus. Suddenly, all around Anahuac monsters started to increase in number; this phenomenon needed proper investigation, so Nochtli was sent in the name of the Empire to paint a Monster Compendium, starting her journey in search of these monsters to observe them and paint them.
Ahuizotl, 8th Tlatoani of Tenochtitlan, capital of the Mexica Empire. Basically the Emperor. I've already drawn him, but this is the first time I design his whole body: Ahuizotl ~ 8th Tlatoani of Tenochtitlan - Concept His name comes from a mythological beast, the Ahuizotl, which is a kind of monster dog with water quills and a hand on it's tail. Ahuizotl means "Water Spiked" or the "Water Thorny". He was the greatest military leader in all of mesoamerican history, expanding the Mexica Empire's territory to unheard frontiers. By the time the story takes place (1493), Ahuizotl had already reigned for 7 years.

Their name is Nochtli and it literally means prickly pear cactus
