Ya’ll sitting down? Good, because let me lay down a Season 5 scene for you.
The battle with Horde Prime is over. Everyone is tired and battle weary. They are all high above Etheria, looking down at the world below them that they have saved when suddenly, the platform they’re standing on cracks.
Adora is in the wrong place, she falls, reaching out.... Catra grabs for her but just barely misses, calling her name as she plummets towards Etheria, “ADORA!” Glimmer hears and turns, running and leaping after Adora despite the fact that she no longer has any magic left for teleports. Bow knows this, he reaches for her too, calling out for what may be the last time, “Glimmer!”
The two watch helplessly as their friends plummet.
Glimmer tucks herself in, rocketing towards Adora’s falling form like a little torpedo. Adora sees her... reaches out, so does Glimmer...Just an inch more...GOT HER! They cling to one another as they fall and Adora realizes Glimmer has just sealed her fate as well. She’s out of teleports. Why did she jump?
“What are you doing?”
“Trust me.”
Glimmer turns them towards the earth and they rocket faster. The music swells, the ground comes closer. Just before they hit, Glimmer closes her eyes, summoning the power she felt on her Coronation Day.
“Hold on!”
“Glimmer!!” Adora panics as the ground grows closer.
A burst of light fills her vision and suddenly she’s being pulled upwards, back into the sky. Glimmer has wings. She has WINGS. She’s flying! They’re soaring. Flipping, turning and spinning through the air as they return to their baffled and amazed friends.
Oh...And it’s all set to ‘What’s Up Danger?’ from Into The Spiderverse because I don’t have an original soundtrack.
