No Lack

Certain amidst uncertainty

Scripture:  Habakkuk 3:17-19

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,    and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails,    and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields,    and the cattle barns are empty,  yet I will rejoice in the Lord!    I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign Lord is my strength!    He makes me as surefooted as a deer,[f]    able to tread upon the heights.

Observation:

We can rejoice no matter what because of who God is.  He is true.  He will never leave or forsake us.  Even when it appears all is lost or that we are without he will provide.

Application:

I have been through a season that I can either complain about what I see as lack, or take heart and know that God will always provide more than enough.  There is nothing in this world that can take his place.  There is nothing in this world that will bring the joy that Jesus brings.  Whether I perceive that I am in lack or not, he is not lacking.  

Prayer:

Lord Jesus.  Give me joy today and help me to rejoice in every circumstance.  May I never feel that I am in lack for you give more than enough.  I pray today Lord that you will help me to own my faith and live outloud for you.  Renew my strength.  Fall afresh on this day August 6, 2019.  May Amy, Noah, Ruby, and Scarlett come to know you intimately more and more each day.  I praise you today!  Amen!
