HAPPY 4th and PAGE UPDATE W/ PAGE MASCOT SPRINGIN' CHIP!

Heya folks! Springin’ Chip back with chipper tidings and to say Happy Independence Day! Now, to be clear and in case it wasn’t obvious, I’m a canine, and therefore I really don’t know what the hell ‘time’ or ‘July 4th’ even is. Apparently, it’s one day to relax, celebrate and remember history. As a page mascot, it’s my job to spread joy and enthusiasm about pretty much everything regardless of whether I want to broach the topic or not! So instead of using this post to shit all over our politically divided modern America, which I’ll leave to pretty much everyone else on this platform, I’m gonna tell you a few things about what I like about it quickly, lest we forget that there are benefits to this land!

I LIKE living in a multicultural country, in fact, I can’t even imagine what it’s like living in an ethnocentric monoculture! I like how BIG this place is and how if you want a change of pace or lifestyle, you can just move in pretty much any direction and start your life over again! I like all the natural beauty, from coast to coast this is a GORGEOUS place that I just want to sniff and pee all over! I like our positive technological momentum. I enjoy our entertainment options, our excessive access to resources like food and fuel, and I like how we’re still free enough to think about anything the way that we want, paint what we want, craft what we want, make the music we want, etc., etc. I like the wildlife, how most American cities look from afar and especially how they look at night, road trips, access to the internet, classic diners… I could go on! If you wanna bitch and waffle about living in a country where you (currently) DON’T get literally machine gunned down or run over by tanks when you merely protest, go ahead and do that on your own page. I can’t imagine wanting to call anywhere else home, and I’m glad to be in America. I’m so glad I’m positively rolling in the grass! I hope you have a great long weekend, assuming you have a long weekend. Use it to be thoughtful, supportive and productive, as the very best Americans have always been! Additionally, feel free to unfollow this page if you find yourself even remotely salty about this one little holiday post and enjoy your self-imposed salt mines! I’m 100% sure that touching, tasting and literally inhaling/exhaling salt all the time is wonderful for your mental health and ability to maintain healthy and long-lasting relationships!

Oh, and th3-0bjectivist just instructed me to give you my normal contractually obligated page update! We’ve got a few more abstract background paintings coming within the next six weeks or so. After that, we’re going to be doing a yearly SPACE ART WEEK where everything on this page (art, music, images) becomes suddenly space themed to serve as a transitional period to give us a bit more time to generate quality art and writing. In the weeks following and until the end of 2025, it’s STORY TIME! You’re gonna get fully realized fantasy-themed paintings, poetic written lore, and maybe a few concept drawings for the post-apocalyptic fantasy story th3-0 is currently working on. Beyond that, we’re going to continue to deliver a lot of obscure music this year, as the theme seems to be gaining some momentum. We’ve got a lot more artsy pages to plug, and a lot more thoughtful/humorous pee-in-your-pants, knee-slappin’ memes to reblog.

The Conservatives

I shall put this under the cut (hopefully!) to avoid clutter...

- Tax credit for single/widowed seniors who have pension income. Allows single/widowed seniors with pension income to claim up to $600 in tax relief per year

- Balanced the budget a year early (keeping in mind that budgets can be manipulated to show surpluses through moving money around or borrowing money)

- The deficit has been steadily reduced from $56 billion to a surplus this year in the midst of a global recession

- Federal tax burden is the lowest it’s been in more than 50 years

- Will lower the small business tax from 11% to 9% over the next four years

- An additional $10 million in funding for the Kanishka project

- Will continue to fight ISIS on the ground and at home by helping refugees and instituting ‘banned travel’ zones in terrorist-controlled parts of the world. This will prevent those who leave Canada to engage in terrorist activity from returning.

- Are currently working to allow voluntary supplementary contributions to CPP at the discretion of each contributor

- Canadian forces on the ground have helped to regain control of a quarter of the land occupied by ISIS

- Launched extremedialogue.org in order to help prevent the appeal of extremism for Canadian youth

- Will invest $20 million over three years into the lobster industry ($15 million to market/promote and $5 million to support lobster research)

- Reduce payroll taxes by 21% by 2017. This give Canadians more money in their pockets as their EI contributions will be lower. (goes from $1.88 per $100 earned to $1.49)

- In RESP: Doubling enhanced grant for middle income families from 10 cents to 20 cents per dollar on the first $500 contributed each year. For low-income families, it is raised from 20 cents to 40 cents for each dollar.

- Will increase the Disability Savings Grant from $3,500 to $4,000 for low and middle class families

- The Conservative government will match every dollar raised by a museum in fundraising efforts. This is capped at $15 million per year with additional conditions already in place.

- Will establish a Canadian Armed Forces Reserve unit in Yukon

- Will provide funding to promote hunting, angling, and snowmobiling tourism in Canada, create Wildlife Conservation fund to protect and improve habitat for species harvested by hunters.

- Ensure approval of more firearms safety instructors

- Reject the re-imposition of long-gun registry and provide a common sense approach to gun control to protect public safety without imposing burdens on gun owners
