Usage of different nonbinary terms (possible survey?)
Doea anyone have any research/surveys on what terms are and aren’t being used in the community right now? And if not, would people other than me be interested in finding this out? Here’s a rough sketch of how a survey might be structured:
Question one: what term(s) do you feel most accurately describe your gender?
My response: agenderflux demigirl
Question two: what term(s) (including the one(s) above) do you feel comfortable using to describe your gender?
My response: nonbinary, transgender, genderfluid, genderflux, agender, agenderflux, demigender, demigirl, agenderflux demigirl
Question three: are there term(s) that you might fall under a technical definition of, but not use/feel comfortable using to describe your gender? If you would like, explain why you don’t use/feel comfortable using these terms.
My response: genderqueer, bigender. Genderqueer never quite clicked with me the same way nonbinary did, and although I could identify as bigender if I wanted, I don’t really feel a connection to the term.
What do you think of this mock survey? Are there things that should be changed, added, or removed? Would you take this survey? (Does anyone know how to even run a survey like this, especially if there are a lot of respondents?)
