I have this little mechs as Jon's uni band headcannon that I've never really mentioned to anyone before

So- AMAB non-binary Jon who grew up only ever being called "Jonathan" by his grandma getting to uni and suddenly being surrounded by some of the queerest people he's ever seen and he suddenly figures out his relationship to his own gender isn't normal

Anyway, I hc that that's the first point he starts going by "Jon" bc he's kinda relaxing a bit now that he has friends and is not only getting human interaction through his emotionally distant grandmother

It wouldn’t be the first time he wore a skirt – he used to borrow Georgie’s clothes a lot, back in uni. But that was a long time ago, and he had abandoned exploration of that kind when he felt that looking professional and respected was the most important thing he could strive for. It had always been at the back of his mind, now that he thinks on it, but he never really had the time or space to dwell on it. There were always more important things happening than gender, of all things.

- Just a little fic that focuses on jon and martin, now that they're safe(will be), exploring things like gender, relationships, trauma, and just generally learning how to live lives they've never had before
