Hiya! I have a question regarding the interaction between Zask, Skittering Swarmlord and Ashes of the Fallen. Assuming Ashes names Insect does this actually let you cast any creature from your graveyard?

I think the answer is no because of ashes not affecting spells on the stack but its a high include in Zask decks on edhrec so I'm beginning to doubt my judgement 🥲

No, this doesn't work for exactly the reason you stated.

While all the creature cards in your graveyard will be insects, you won't be able to legal cast any of them because they won't be insect spells once you put them on the stack. Zask cares about what a card you're casting from your graveyard looks like on the stack, not what it looks like in the graveyard, and so this is an unfortunately popular nonbo.

Also, Ashes won't even help with Zask's second ability since death triggers look at the creature as it last existed on the battlefield, not as it exists in the graveyard.

Hi there! Does "Korlash, Heir to Blackblade" + "Spy Kit" work as I think it'd work (referring to Korlash' Grandeur ability, discarding any non-legendary creature to activate the effect) I would think so due to a combination of rules 201.2b and 201.4b, but I would like a second opinion!

This is a cool idea, but it doesn’t work.

Korlash’s Grandeur ability is asking you to discard a card that’s named “Korlash, Heir to Blackblade”, not just a card with the same name as the card with the ability. Spy Kit doesn’t change the text of Korlash’s grandeur ability and so this combo does nothing to make the Grandeur easier.

What happens if I cast harvest season while I have a paradox engine on the battlefield? Will I still search for lands?

When you cast Harvest Season (or any other spell) while you control Paradox Engine, Paradox Engine will trigger and that trigger will resolve and untap all of your nonland creatures before the spell you cast resolves.

When Harvest Season starts to resolve, it counts the number of tapped creatures you control at that time. If you don’t control any tapped creatures at that time, due to Paradox Engine’s trigger for example, then X will be 0 and you won’t be able to put any basic lands onto the battlefield with Harvest Season.

(Note that you have a chance to tap your creatures between Paradox Engine’s trigger resolving and Harvest Season resolving. You have to have a way to do so, though, such as mana abilities on the creatures. You can’t just tap them because you want to tap them.)

How does the conspire mechanic work on the stack? If I had a doubling season to double the giant from giantbaiting could I use the giants to copy it? Does conspire go infinite with enough creatures and paradox engine?

Conspire is an additional cost you pay when you cast the spell. You can only conspire a given spell once by tapping two creatures that share a color with it. The copy of the spell created by the conspire ability isn’t cast and thus it can’t itself be conspired. This combo doesn’t work.

I have two myr galvanizer and a battle sphere and a bunch of myr tokens. Battlesphere attacks. Can I tap all my myrs, except 1 gal. Then tap a mana ans the gal to untap the rest and infinite combo tap my myrs,

This doesn’t work.

When Myr Battlesphere’s attack trigger resolves, you have a single opportunity to tap Myr you control. Once you’ve tapped Myr, the ability finishes resolving and buffs Battlesphere and burns your opponent appropriately. You don’t have priority in the middle of the resolution of this trigger and can’t activate Myr Galvanizer or other abilities.

NONBO! Sadly, not a combo!! When the Galleon enters the battlefield, it is not a creature! Verdant Sun’s Avatar loves big creatures, but Conqueror’s Galleon isn’t among them. Conqueror’s Galleon goes well with Doran, The Siege Tower and similar effects, and the Avatar loves him too. These can go into the same type of decks, but don’t interact.

Does spell breaker behemoth and Thromok interact how I want them to?

There’s no interaction between these two cards.

When Thromok is on the stack, it has 0 power. You don’t make the decision of what you’re going to devour with Thromok until it’s resolving and entering the battlefield, so it never has power 5 or greater on the stack and can be countered as normal despite your impressive Spellbreaker Behemoth.
