May these words be the first to find your ears.
(Meredith talking to an unconscious addison.)
The world is brighter than the sun now that you're here.
(Addison waking to find her asleep next to her.)
Though your eyes will need some time to adjust, to the overwhelming light surrounding us.
(both of them in acceptance it’s not going to be easy instantly. but that it’s happening…)
I will always hold you close, but I will learn to let you go.
(Addison at Celia.)
Promise… you’ll do better?
(Celia’s ghost at Addison.)
I will rearrange the stars, pull them down to where you are.
(Meredith to addison.)
I promise. I’ll do better.
(Addison to them both.)
I will soften every edge, hold the world to its best.
(Addison to Meredith.)
I promise. I’ll do better.
(Meredith to Addison.)
I hereby pledge all of my days to prove it so.
(both of them. INHLW, part 4. the peace.)
LOL AS IF! I can’t log onto this hellsite without one of you tender youths getting all lascivious about those two miserable bastards from Oasis. In the Year Of Our Lord 2024. WTAF Gen Z?
Perhaps none of us can do or be exactly as we please in life.
from A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon
I don't know much about this show yet, other than I will defend ted lasso with my entire being
My dichotomy is such that i marvel at the spectacle of life but see death as the only option.
We just don’t value this gift (of life) enough, and it’s evident. Constantly taking not only our selves, but our fellow for granted. Warring and debating over belief & status rather than bonding over objectivity and the ethereal. Material and construct have blinded us. Can only pain catalyze progression? Industrialism & capitalism make short work of those unfit, and heathens of the best of us— Sociopathy bred on a massive scale because of globalization in ironic conjunction with the minimizing of the concept of “world”.
Irresolute.. fickle.
How comedic! How ironic.. we birth these ideas only to later damn them and all they stood for. Everything that’s put in place is just part of the race to indoctrinate, from the dollar bill to the church that asks you for it.. when/if one ever achieves the ability to think freely of whatever preconceived notions were imparted upon them, then, and only then, can you find true objectivity, which results in isolation, both self-inflicted and otherwise. The alienation comes with seeing things for how they are rather than how we particularly view them or would like them to be..
#31 for will with hop!!
31. a song you wish your parents didn’t know the words to
ohmygod okay so a few went through my head but i’m gonna say Big Bad Bill (Is Sweet William Now) - Van Halen
bc Hop really loves this album. It’s weird as all fuck and this song is strange as hell for the band (it has a fucking clarinet in it??? played by the father of one of the band members, mind you, which like... cool??) but in the morning Hop likes to play it and dance around the kitchen singing it to Will.
and it
sucks.
Will wants to rip his hair out.
He’ll just be walking out to the kitchen, looking to grab a nice bowl of cereal, when he hears the weird, carnival-like music coming from the record player. and you bet he turns on his heel to walk the other way, but this boy isn’t getting away bc Hop sees him and grabs his wrist and drags him over to the table.
“Mornin’, come get some breakfast.”
and so Will is being pushed into a seat at the table, listening to the stupid little voice singing Big bad Bill is sweet William now...
and Hop is humming along, singing along with the voice “married life done changed him somehow~”
and Will is listening, leaning his forehead on his hand, tired as fuck even though he got a good night’s sleep, bc goddamnit, this song is awful. It drives him crazy. he wishes Hop had never heard it because here Hop is, dancing around the kitchen, calling Will “Sweet William” and Will has to give a tired, unconvincing smile.
When Will sees Billy about to walk into the kitchen, he does his best to shoo him away.
Go go go, save yourself! Will mouths to the boy, but it’s too late, bc Hopper is dancing his way over to Billy, grabbing onto his shoulders and guiding the stumbly, sleepy boy to the table.
“Fuck.” Billy mutters under his breath as Hop sings about how “Big bad Bill don’t fight anymore”
Billy sighs and slides down in his chair, watching with tired eyes as Hop stirs up Billy a cup of coffee.
He rolls his head over to look at Will.
“You run, I think I can take him.”
Will gives a little chuckle. “I can’t leave you to deal with this alone.”
Billy ruffles Will’s hair clumsily and the two of them are looking just exasperated as Hopper sings about “big bad Bill” marrying a woman and becoming “Sweet William”... to his 2 gay sons. like a dummy♥
