I keep thinking about a Midnight on the Demon Patrol AU of Star Wars: The Clone Wars but the thing about making Midnight on the Demon Patrol* AUs is that it's a bad idea and no one should do it**. Asuka (author) was already building on a foundation (Homestuck) that could most kindly be described as filigreed. Lacy, even. Patchwork, perhaps.

Demons' powers and which summoners can summon which demons are both determined by classpect, which is kind of like if Meyers-Briggs was a 12 x 12 grid (144 options) instead of 4 pairs (16 options) and also if more than half of it was a mystery. I would need to make a chart. Possibly multiple charts. For a handful of ficlets.

Which is why I'm definitely thinking about Leverage characters in Clone Wars and not even a little bit about how much easier it is to create summoners than force users and how Kamino would handle training in the usage of demon powers.

More about that MotDP (demon summoner) AU of Clone Wars that I am not writing:

Children born in spitting distance of a hell gate have a much higher chance of being summoners. If the hell gate is expanding quickly, spilling otherworldly problems, and you need a demon summoner army yesterday, well. Speed growing clones in the borderlands is... it's A solution. Demons feed on blood, sex, and their individual prices, and wouldn't you know? Kamino has blood to spare. So much blood.

To make it possible to use stronger, more prolonged abilities, the Kaminoans create (or very conveniently discover) a fun and fucked up ritual to bind whole companies to the strongest summoner, the Commander, so they draw on the collective blood/ life force. Great incentive to keep close track of your power spending

Juicy things to play with in this AU:

Making up prices and powers for the Force users, along with the illusions/ impressions showing that a demon is riding shotgun (ofc)

The dissonance between extremely precise and micromanaged Kamino "science" VS. wildly varying demon abilities w/ bizarre exchange rates

The Jedi Clone power dynamics getting weirder and more fucked up if and when they incarnate anyone

"Rex having to deal with Anakin riding shotgun" (very terrible) VS "Rex having to deal with incarnate Anakin LOOSE! On the battlefield! No one knows what he's going to do next, least of all the demon! He's never been incarnate before!"

Sticking Fox with a psychopomp for suffering purposes

Making Wolffe feel each of his brothers' lives pass through his hands like beads on a string because either he and Plo kill the malevolent incarnate demon swimming through space at their dreadnought or they all die anyway when it reaches them.
