~•~ Bad Day Turned Amazing ~•~
Norman x Reader(any gender)
Summary: Norman was always nice to the staff at Oscorp, but he was never this nice.
Warnings: fluff(near the end), mentions of death/ppl passing away, bullying(y/n receiving), the ending tho… 😫
A/N: i'm excited about how this turned out! also, know this: a boss or employer is different than a supervisor!(this will need to be understood for parts of this fanfic!)
Today was terrible so far.
Your brother passed away just hours ago. You really didn't want to go to work today, but you thought that having something to work on would distract you from the sorrow that had darkened your day.
After you had gotten ready for work, you grabbed a leash and hooked it onto your yorkie's collar, and opened your door. You trudged down the steps and you let your dog do her business in the small yard in front of your apartment complex. You returned to your apartment and let your dog off her leash.
You grabbed your wallet and car keys, and stepped outside again, closing the door behind you. You again walked down the stairs to the small parking lot.
Once there, you got in your sedan and began the drive to the Oscorp building.
Shortly after arriving at work, your co-workers had started fighting, and blamed some random ass thing on you. Could this day get any worse? You thought desperately, crying slightly.
Little did you know, it was about to get a whole lot better.
A loud slam on your desk woke you from your distracted trance, and you looked up to see a fat stack of disheveled paperwork lying on the corner of your desk with your supervisor standing next to it.
"Imma need you to get all of these done by tomorrow, Y/N. You can't use any of your lame excuses to get out of it. Deal?"
"Deal," you sigh, wishing you were anywhere but here.
As your supervisor turned to leave, they used a finger and pushed the papers until they were teetering on the edge of the desk, then left.
You slowly reached for the stack, and the second your hands touched paper, the whole thing fell to the floor.
Your co-workers didn't like this, no, they hated you for it. Harsh words spilled from their mouths as they watched you crouch down and pick up paper after paper.
Harsh words turned into furious words, and furious words turned into yelling. You cried harder as you sat there, feeling helpless as you slowly picked up papers.
"Be quiet, all of you, and get back to work." A loud voice sounded from the direction of your boss's office.
You turned in the direction of the call, but you couldn't see anything through the tears that clouded your vision.
You could feel your whole body shaking, and your face was red with embarrassment and wet from crying.
"Y/N, are you alright?" A voice sounds from directly in front of you.
You lifted your head from where it sat between your hands, and you paused. How did Norman know your name?
Norman apparently sensed your discomfort, because he had someone nearby go get you a glass of water.
What. The. Fuck. He never called anyone dear. So why did he call you that?
You took a sip of your water. "I-... I guess I'm just h-having a rough day." You said shakily, before returning your head to your hands.
"Do you think you can talk to me in my office? I'd be happy to chat with you there." He offered.
"S-sure," you reply, cheeks still wet.
He helps you stand, and puts his arm around your shoulder, leading you in the direction of his office.
You step inside, and he closes the door behind him.
"So no one eavesdrops." He explains when you raise an eyebrow at him. "Please, sit. Let's talk about what has been happening. You haven't been getting as much done as you used to."
You take his advice and you sit in the chair across from his desk, and he sits in his own chair.
"I'm sorry, sir. I've been very distracted lately. Today was just a bad day… My brother passed away just this morning... I thought coming to work would distract me from the dismal distractions of my personal life. But it just made it worse, and I wish I could be anywhere but under my awful supervisor's controlling gaze." You managed to say it all without pausing, and you let all your tears out afterwards.
The news must have shocked Norman, because when you looked at him, he was staring into the distance with a concerned expression.
"Y/N, do you need me to change you over to a different supervisor?" He said, still thinking.
"I-I don't understand. You would do that for me?"
When you said this, all signs of pondering vanished from Norman, and instead, he had loving eyes and an intent gaze on you.
He suddenly stood and walked around the end of his desk. When he was standing right in front of you, he leaned down swiftly and pressed his lips against yours.
Pulling away, he said the most handsome thing a man could ever say before kissing you again:
"Oh darling, I would do anything for you."
