The joy of seeing these prints emerge and revealing themselves from the printer is so satisfying. Sure it’s not quite the same as traditional printing, but close. In order of appearance: Oscar, John, and finally Jyb.

Kaizer is coming soon. Register on https://normyip.com/theasianmale to be the first to know when a new gallery is arriving.
Kaizer's Gallery is now open to the public. He said that after seeing these photographs, he is now even more determined to get into better shape, but I personally don't feel the necessity. There is something that is very real about this type of physique, that isn't artificially glossed over and measured by the inch and % of body fat.

My hand and glove became the object of art for this series of artworks. Utilizing a flatbed scanner, I became intrigued by the idea of motion, both my hand and the scanner sliding across the bed. I was interested in seeing how my movements would be interpreted. I put on dance music to inform my movements, twisting and bouncing along and varying the shape into various position over the light. The output I felt was a form of another dimension realized by the act itself of going through this experience. Without the act itself, I would have no image to show you. In arriving at an appropriate title for the series, I have named this ‘Morpheus' Hand’. Morpheus, similar to the word metamorphosis, is the son of Hypnos and the god of dreams. He had the ability to put one to sleep and shape your dreams. It is a fitting name for this explorative series. To see the 16 images in the series: http://www.normyip.com/morpheus-hand/
My famous Milkboy photo that can never be replicated. It’s too hard to match with the way the milk covers the face, the crisscross of the milk below the chin and the expression on the model’s face. This is a stunning 24 x 33” limited edition print. I always have to take a deep breath when signing. https://normyip.com/theasianmale/
Visitation, No. 4, 2017 Acrylic on canvas, 120 x 180cm
Following from the paintings I created for Visitation 1 and 2, I felt the urge to scale up the work and focus on the cloud formations, taking cues from the works of C.Y Twombly’s dripping clouds. My cloud objects take on a more robust colour scheme. I am attracted to intense colour combinations from looking at lichen I found on Google, resembling backgrounds to old masters that I might have seen at the Prado museum. They were wonderful to paint these colours, and not as difficult as one might seem, but only knowing how to achieve these by experimenting a number of different techniques.

葉灃 | Ego Death, 2017. Mixed-media on paper, 89 x 59cm.
Awakening can be described as a breaking down of the ego, when you realise that your 'self' is nothing more than an illusion, that who you are is not identified by your name, your profession, your gender or sexual orientation. These are only abstract ideas. The death of your ego is when you come to this deep understanding. This breaking down of the ego can come as a daunting revelation. You can try to retract from it all, but it can come to haunt you as well. There may be an apparent loss of desire and the will go pursue goals that you had previously.
