All right, let’s put this one to bed:
Jack died because the Plot demanded it
the end.
I've been thinking a lot about how Rogue One ends and A New Hope begins lately. You have heard the criticism, right? Rogue One makes the start of A New Hope make no sense? Well... As a refresher, A New Hope begins with a small ship being boarded by Darth Vader. He suspects Princess Leia and others aboard are part of the Rebel Alliance. How he knows this is not explained, but it has never mattered. The end of Rogue One is the beginning of A New Hope except that we discover that Darth Vader doesn't "suspect" Leia and company are rebels. He and his Stormtroopers have chased them down following the rebels' theft of the Death Star plans. So, Star Wars fans say that this makes the interaction between Vader and Leia nonsensical. Vader points his finger at Leia, and she claims both ignorance and innocence. She even threatens him. At a glance, this is what YouTubers who like to say "Ding!" call a plot hole. HOWEVER... Leia's interaction with Vader is EXACTLY how anyone with any sense would play it. Anyone who has ever been pulled over by the cops knows that when they say "Do you know why I pulled you over?" you NEVER tell them because that is an admission of guilt. If you have any chance of fighting the ticket in court or God forbid the arrest, you never say anything that could be construed later as an acknowledgment that you committed the crime, no matter how small the infraction.

i feel like people toss around the word plot hole too easily. its not a plot hole if a show hasnt gotten to the point where that part of the plot is resolved. its a plot hole if everything ends and that one thing still doesnt make sense.
About the John and Mary meet cute
Mary said she ran into him and knocked him over, they later went for coffee which was their first date.
This doesn’t contradict the canon we were given in My Bloody Valentine 5.14
Cupid: Ooh, they couldn't stand each other at first. But when we were done with them--Perfect couple.
Mary knocked John to the ground, many people would react to that with anger. The cupid never said how long they “couldn’t stand each other.” We saw in Sacrifice 8.23 that it only takes a moment for a cupid’s arrow to take effect. If a cupid showed up a few minutes after Mary had knocked John down then they had a small amount of time where they couldn’t stand each other but still got together the first night they met.
The meet cute described in 12.01 can fit into the established canon, it’s not a plot hole. We were never told how long they couldn’t stand each other and we’ve seen that cupids can work fast.
Things that sound kinda dirty but aren’t:
There’s a gap in my plot that needs filling.

The Monuments Men: A Weakly Romantic Devaluing of the Real Mission
Based on a true story, they said.
Well, what do we all know you expect from films that begin with that these days?
So it doesn't come as too much of a surprise that the story of the years-long mission of hundreds of people, covering all of Europe, was cut down to a tiny group of art experts during the final days of WWII retrieving a couple trucks of art.
The Doctor, as we all believe, has twelve regenerations, equaling thirteen lives. Peter Capaldi is, as we all know, going to be the Twelfth Doctor. But will he be the last?
John Hurt's Doctor, the War Doctor, is technically the true Ninth Doctor, or at least the ninth regeneration of the Doctor. So are the lives of the Doctor coming to a close, ending with Capaldi?
And, more importantly, were we, the fandom, cheated of a whole regeneration? We really get very little of the War Doctor...
We were promised thirteen Doctors!
