I don't have time for tumblr discourse they're calling the very hungry caterpillar degenerate art over on twitter
good art is when something looks like real life, the more real it looks the more better the art. abstracted figures give my trad children nightmares, one time they were exposed to cubism and couldn't go outside for a week
I wish they'd taught us in grade school about how this was how Nazis viewed and treated art.
Father Strange, when considering the famous shoelaces code, do you interpret the president they were stolen from to be whichever US president is currently in office, or is it still Obama? I've held in my heart that it has been Obama this whole time
I also feel like The Shoelace President is Obama but I'm curious what Tumblr at large thinks
Who did you steal your shoelaces from?
Obama
Whoever is current US president
A non-US president (put in tags)
we're moving to an internet where children would be banned from reaching out for help and friendship online but abusive parents can post their children's every second online to humiliate and expose them for money with no pushback
Took until June, but I finally hit 10 movies watched for the first time in 2026.
Empathy Man
Shin Ultraman
Darby O'Gill and the Little People
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
More Dead Than Living
The Gnome-mobile
They Will Kill You
Nobody Here: The Story of Vaporwave

I honestly feel like I'm being gaslit re: a certain Senate race in a state I don't even live in. I can remember in the months before all the red flags about Graham Platner started coming out how it was Progressive podcasters and journalists who were all excited about him.
Now, I'm being told that it was only ever establishment Democrats who were behind him and and how it's only them behind him now even as I get pestered almost weekly by people who tell me that in fact the establishment Dems (backed by Israel) are trying to smear him.
Pestered to the point of having to block sometimes, because there's only so many times I can be accused of being pro-IDF raping Palestinians before I start to think I'm talking to someone who doesn't give a shit what I actually believe, they just want to bully someone and are using the victims of Israel's genocide for cover.
It's the same kind of shit that happened with Jimmy Dore, really. He's not a candidate for office, but like with Oyster Boy I am expected to just pretend that all the support he had on the Left (or at least the Online Left) before he (Jimmy) went full anti-vaxxer and accused random YouTubers of being CIA never happened.
I am so tired. So fucking tired.
I love post like "you all are against rich people until they're a fictional character" because it's completely true. I am against rich people until it's a fictional character. I don't think liking Scrooge McDuck makes someone a class traitor
tier list of international radiotelephony spelling alphabet letters by how well they work as personal names
S - hell yeah
Echo - shades of Greek mythology, interesting and distinct while also being an actual name that some people have
November - @postoctobrist is the reason why I am making this list
Sierra - from the Spanish for "mountain range", falls under the same distinct-but-reasonable category as Echo
A - perfectly reasonable names
Charlie
India
Juliet*
Oscar
Romeo*
Victor
*these names are cool but be warned that if you choose one you will get the same three Shakespeare jokes for the rest of time
B - sure I guess
Delta - I have never heard of anyone with this name but I think it could work?
Mike - deeply boring name, try and be more imaginative. (the only reason Charlie isn't down here is that I know a couple of Charlies and they're lovely)
Zulu - probably don't name yourself this if you're white
C - I am really curious how you're gonna make these work
Bravo - I feel like this has the cadence and feel of a name, but it's definitely out there
Lima - people named after cities are not that common, but I guess if Paris can be a name then so can this
Papa - not sure this works as a legal name but it's definitely plausible as a nickname within a very specific in-group
Quebec - see Lima
D - maybe salvageable somehow?
Foxtrot - pretty odd, but you could shorten it to Fox and it's kinda reasonable
Tango - another dance, but even harder to make work than Foxtrot
Whisky - occupies a similar nickname space as Papa, with the extra downside that it makes you sound like an alcoholic
X-Ray - "Ray" on its own is fine but randomly shoving Xs at the start of things is something that basically only Elon Musk does
Yankee - it's not completely insane as a name but it has enough unpleasant connotations that I wouldn't recommend it
F - do not under any circumstances use these
Alpha - if someone introduces themself to me as "Alpha" I will immediately cover my drink
Golf - all issues with the sport aside, I just think this is a really ugly sequence of phonemes
Hotel - you are not a Monopoly token
Kilo - usually units of measurement are named after people, not the other way round
Uniform - too on-the-nose even for a badly written dystopia novel
A mother's plea: Help us survive and protect my child who was born in war.
My name is Sahar. Like any young woman, I dreamed of a stable and happy life. I was engaged to Mohammad, and together, we dreamed of building a warm little home where we could start our life. We spent years preparing our house, but just before our wedding, everything was destroyed in an instant by the war.
I was faced with a choice: to leave Mohammad in the midst of this chaos or to stand by him and begin our journey together, no matter how difficult it might be. I chose him. We got married, not in the dream wedding I had envisioned, but under the harsh reality of war. Our new home became a fragile tent, offering neither comfort nor security.
After we got married, I received the news that I was pregnant with my daughter, and I live in constant fear for my unborn child. I am terrified of the world she will be born into—a world of poverty, hunger, and bitter cold. We have been displaced from our home more than nine times, carrying with us nothing but the burden of loss and the hope of survival. The house we dreamed of is now rubble, and the tent we live in barely protects us from the rain and cold. How will I protect my daughter? We struggle to find enough food. Basic necessities like milk, blankets, and clothing feel impossibly out of reach. The cost of survival has become unbearable. Every night, I am haunted by the thought: how can I bring her into this world, knowing I cannot keep her safe?
After a long pregnancy filled with pain and fear, after nights without sleep, I finally gave birth to my baby girl. She was born in the middle of bombing, surrounded by destruction and poverty—not in a warm room, not in a safe place. Her first cry mixed with the sound of explosions, as if she was announcing her arrival into a cruel world she never chose.
I gave birth to her with nothing but my heart. I cannot promise her anything. Poverty surrounds us from every side, and the cold reaches her tiny body before night even comes. My baby and I are suffering deeply, not because we ask for much, but because I am unable to provide her with the most basic needs: milk, warmth, and safety.
When I look into her eyes, I feel strength. When I look at my empty hands, I break down in tears. I am a mother trying to save her child from hunger and fear, in a world that has shown no mercy even to the dreams of children.😢🥹

If your reaction to people rightfully calling out Gaza scam bots for being vile scammers preying on real Palestinians’ lives and people’s kindness is to call them racist or genocide supporters, you’re one of these;
Someone who is never taught about internet literacy, internet safety and how dangerous it is to blindly trust strangers in your inbox / DMs begging you for your money with the same copy paste script of the same sob stories — strangers whose blogs were either created 3 days ago with the sole purpose of sending the same ask to 100+ people a day or literal porn bots before they became Palestinians, if you go to their blogs and scroll down far enough
Someone who is easily guilt tripped and manipulated. Because that’s the precise tactic these scammers use, manipulating and guilt tripping you into believing you are a terrible person for not donating and posting their asks
Someone who knows these vile things are scammers but still chooses to protect them for the sake of looking Morally Superior (“look!!!! I support these Poor People!!!! I’m such a good person!!!!)
Someone who, for some sick, twisted reasons, is okay with scammers profiting off of real Palestinians and scamming people off their money
Someone who is also a scammer
Also, no, people who rightfully call out Gaza scam bots for being vile scammers preying on real Palestinians’ lives and people’s kindness are not “monsters” or “racist” or “heartless”. They are the ones who actually give a fuck and care about Palestinian people enough to choose to speak against scammers who profit off of a genocide and robbing from Palestinian people donation money that could have gone to, you know, real Palestinians instead of scammers’ pockets.
A reminder that these scammers stole from Palestinian people their identities and photos to trick you into believing them. But it’s all part of a big scam ring, even the vetters and the organization that vets these bots, and Tumblr has always been a target of scammers for years.
It started with these scammers pretending to be students needing money for their education fees, then they pretend to be pet owners needing money for their sick, dying pets, then they’re porn bots and now they pretend to be Palestinians trying to survive in Gaza. But they are all the same scammers plaguing Tumblr for a whole decade and more. Do not fall for them. Stay safe.
Discover and donate to highly rated charities providing disaster relief and recovery services for affected communities in Israel and Gaza.
For your consideration, here is an actual charity verifying organization that is itself verified. Look through it, find an organization whose Response tags are the best fit for you, and check out the organization.
Many hands make light work, and organizations have far greater purchasing power and supply chains than a singular person. You can help more people with the same amount of money or less and be more confident in knowing where your money is going.
Just remember that using Empathy is something scammers and even worse use to trick you. You see people with door cams having someone pretend to be usually a woman in need of help, when really she's helping lure you to either open your door to get robbed or get kidnapped. I have personal experience with someone using a loose puppy to try and lure me (they left when I didn't listen and left behind the collarless dog). People pretend they have a close friend or relative of yours heald hostage to take your money. I heard some of these Gaza accounts are even threatening murder suicide in their messages now. Then people have had far less porn bots popping up in their private messages and asks, but are now flooded with these guys.
Some may be genuine, but there's no way they all are. Trust sites that actually show you real charities and real people, trust well known organizations, more than you trust some rando on a site like Tumblr using different pictures with different people but the same names.
Empathy is a good thing to have. But don't let your brain and gut be clouded by your heart.
Wanna take a minute to shout-out a huge Muslim charity that does excellent work both domestically and abroad:
Support Zakat Foundation’s mission: sponsor orphans, aid Gaza, and empower communities in 40+ countries. Donate zakat with confidence and ma
And you know it's a legitimate charity because this page exists:
Access audited financial reports, IRS 990 forms, policies, and accreditation for transparency. Find annual reports, FAQs, and legal document
See those IRS 990 forms? Every year, this charity discloses exactly where every penny they get goes. This one is last year's! https://cdn.zakat.org/public-assets/pdf/25fy99~1.pdf
On their donation page, you can even pick and choose where you want your donation to go, and whether or not you want that donation to be continuous:
https://secure.zakat.org/np/clients/zakat/donation.jsp
There's even their EIN at the bottom of the page, if you want to cross-reference with the IRS.
Always look for things like this (or your country's equivalent) when giving to charity! ❤️
Yes, yes, I know. I am aware of the issues with Funko Pops.
But on the other hand... Dreamer.

If there's one thing that brings Dirtbag Leftists and Right Wing Nut Jobs together in common cause, it's pretending that the number of subscribers I have on YouTube has any impact whatsoever on the validity of my political opinions.
I am not kidding, I'll get it from people who have #MAGA in their profile one day, then people with a trans flag and a hammer & sickle emoji in their display name the next. Not over the same opinion of course, the point is both of them will say things like "lol, no wonder your YouTUbe channel is a failure."
You know, because I A) called Donald Trump a pedophile, or B) said that no one should treat Marjorie Taylor Greene's supposed face turn against Trump as legit.
The veracity of those statements totally depends on just how many people watched me complain about Zombie Shark's embarrassing last minute attempt at a tragic ending.
if vampires existed in real life i think there would be shady companies advertising "organic blood" sourced from "willing donors" who are coincidentally all poor people being paid like $5 per blood donation. and like haughty vegan vampires who only drink a synthetic blood drink thats brewed in a way thats actively worse for the enviroment. and radical traditionalist vampires who go on tiktok and claim that true alpha chads have to drain and kill people and anyone who leaves their victims alive is a liberal cuck. enter the world of hypothetical insufferable vampire politics with me.
I kinda want this as a novel now.
Considering that in the past week on BlueSky I've been told that Anarchism, criticizing Israel without invoking Lizard people conspiracies, or *checks notes* being Hasan Piker makes you a Zionist, I fear we're reaching the point where that word just ceases to have any meaning.
I am not joking. I've had to block 4 or 5 people in just the past 12 hours for trying to tell me that Hasan of all people is a Liberal Zionist.
