Aahhh thankyou to everyone who encouraged me to post this! This is the first time I've ever done something like this but I'll give it my best shot!!
Soulmate concept/backstory
Okay so this one's premise is pretty basic - when soulmates touch for the first time, it leaves colours/designs on their skin.
So for Izuku, the first one he gets is Bakugou (bear with me). He gets it when they're babies and they hug/ roll on top of each other . So he just has this orange imprint around his waist like a half hug, which is really awesome! at first! and then they grow up and bakugou gets meaner and then its....not great. It Hurts Worse, actually. [What Izuku doesn't know is - marks generally grow with their owners. But somehow this one doesn't. What used to be a huge, bright orange across half his torso will one day look like an old discolored bruise. Katsuki will only notice years later, across a locker room and he'll go absolutely still.]
The second mark he gets is from Toshinori. As in when he's passed tf out and All Might is slapping him awake. Golden, that spreads from his cheek to his ear and drips down his shoulder. And this should have probably put their father/son dynamic on 2x speed. But Toshinori... well. Toshinori panics. He thinks-I can't lose another one. he thinks you're safer far away from me. And when he sees Izuku run to save Katsuki, he doesn't think brave, he thinks reckless, reckless. and stays impossibly, damningly silent. [Izuku doesn't even know he's got a new mark until he gets home, washes the sludge out of his mouth and looks in the mirror. He doesn't know who it is, just that they didn't say anything.]
The first mark Shouto gets is from Touya. Rei shows baby touya his new brother, and touya immediately responds by poking baby Shouto's cheek. He immediately whips his hand back when a weird red colour spreads across the baby's cheek and under his eye (mom! mom I think we're allergic to each other!!!)
And this. this is where I get Options.
Option 1- Boiling water incident happens like in canon and you can't see the mark anymore. can't tell what's scar and whats not.
option 2- Rei doesn't do it. She sees the difference and freezes. And that....that doesn't make anything better. She never receives treatment. Never heals, still sees Him in Shouto's face. So it doesn't get better but.....Shouto has a mother. It changes things. [Also changes the Todoroki Sibling Dynamic letsgooooooo]
